What things can help the rebooting process go quicker?

Hello to all reading my post,

I'm a newcomer and gladly supportive of those who are on the same boat as I am, being a porn-addict. In fact, I'm glad I am able to learn from others and gain something from this experience. I'm happily beginning my 3rd week of no PMO. This is my second start and I'm positive that I will be cured, in fact I'm positive we all will be cured from this.

Two things I wanted to address here are: I'm witnessing a change in the way I see women...I no longer have perverted views and see women with respect instead of objectifying them sexually. I want to make friends and see things happen. For all those single men, I guess the trick here is to keep hunting while maintaining patience. Patience can take you a long way! This goes even for those in relationships:) The next thing is introducing higher moral standards on a personal level. If you have a family, be more supportive of them. Help around! Help others in need! And keep posting with useful information on men/women's sexual health.

Finally, I needed some info from any of you who are trying to see things happen quicker. I have the patience for a year, but it would be nice to know if there are things I can do myself to speed the reboot process a bit. I already workout, have a healthy physique, but stressed out from time to time due to school and career. Any suggestion helps.

I wish y'all a safe and positive journey ahead and thats all I had to say for now. Cheers.

For me, I was only quitting porn for the first ~20 days,
but the progress really started to kick in when I quit masturbation as well.
It could be a coincidence,
but according to some people, masturbation and orgasm (even real sex) will slow down your progress.

So we should become monks

I can attest to this. There were a couple times in the past that I temporarily quit porn, but not masturbation, and while it helped a little, I was still resorting to fantasy to masturbate, which was holding me back: http://yourbrainonporn.com/sexual-fantasy-the-more-you-scratch-the-more-you-itch

So I think a lot of has to do with why you're masturbating; it's difficult to masturbate in a healthy way when you're addicted to porn/fantasy and if you do it a lot, you'll have that temptation to resort to porn/fantasy to get the job done.

I say bravo to that. You're a lot younger than me but probably more mature
in certain areas. I'm struggling right now with not only PIED but how I see women.
Oh, I respect them alright just like I respect anyone. But I have to significantly reduce the sexual thoughts
that creep in my mind when I see a nice pair of lips or hips among other body parts. How do you shake that thought process?

Viper its biological bro  ;D
I don't think it's wrong to think that way,
up to the point where you feel the urge.

I read on YBOP article that it's okay to feel attracted and think about girls
as long as you learn how to "ride the wave" (I think that was the term they used word for word.. can't find the article tho)
It's a skill that you can develop
where you don't forcefully suppress your fantasy, but let it flow naturally
until it goes away like a wave. (Obviously, you can't think about sex when you let it flow naturally)
Apparently, this won't trigger the urge.

hello again,

I must be on the right track based on the responses from Viper and Card. Yea I'm trying my best. Just wondering if anyone of you read the article below:
http://www.webmd.com/erectile-dysfunction/news/20080701/watermelon-a-natural-viagra

I love watermelons. I wish that it would work like a charm while I'm feasting on it during my abstinence :)

I read it now.
But it appears that the findings are incomplete. Doesn't say how much you need to eat for the effect.

True. And I noticed since it's mostly water, no matter how much you eat, you'll flush it out. Nonetheless it's good to stay hydrated and eat fruits of all sorts.

On a different note, I was thinking how should one reward himself for being successful in pursuing the monk lifestyle? Any suggestions? I'm thinking of rewarding myself every month I add on the counter.

whatever makes you happy that isn't counter-productive to your reboot.

I would reward myself doing something that spurts my adrenaline.
Like spending money to buy a guitar or a jacket.

Celebrate together with friends, go out to drink.
