hardest reboot possible! Any advice on how to stay strong?
« on: November 16, 2017, 12:15:20 AM »
I'm just finding out about the crazy effect porn had on my life, and want to get it over with asap. No relapse, no pmo, getting my mind off fantasies and flashbacks of porn, just nothing by force! Besides exercise and working hard, cold showers (do they  even work? They seem to make me wake up and horny actually), and basically leading an Amish existence where I avert my eyes,  can anyone with experience give me more advice? Supplements? Tricks that ease the battle? The goal is resentisize my brain to dopamine, and finally enjoy sex again as I used to all those years ago, no detachment, no numbness no ed or de.. never understood why it was happening to me. Until recently when it dawned on me that it wasn't "happening", I was doing this to myself..
Thanks! (I'm in my 30s by the way)

Why are so many people in this forum ask such questions? Sure you will recover - sex is our main instinct. Not shitty PMO. You are only 30, the whole life ahead.

Porn is a dark witchcraft, remember. It's not you but devil who pull and fumble you dick when you watch all those pixels in the screen. He is laughing at you when you get all those DE and ED problems, and when you feel shame before girls after weak performance. Never return to that shit.

Don't rush it.  It's going to take as long as it takes.

Best advice I have is to read everything you can find.  Your Brain on Porn.  Reboot Nation.  Your Brain Rebalanced.  NoFap.  Anything on PIED/PMO/Porn Addiction.

Arm yourself for the coming battle.

Good luck!

I read everything and then some! I'm on vacation so I just sit by the sea and take loads of info in. However I really do want to move fast and get my life back, cause great things are happening for me right now, and I want to be able to finally live life to the fullest, maybe find love finally, enjoy sex for the 1st time in a decade. None of us have much time in this world :)
It's why I'm seeking the benefit of your experience.
Question- as a guy addicted to a fetish and porn and MO everyday ever since i was 12 or so, how come I have no urges to PMO at all in the few days that I decided to go cold turkey? It feels weird. The reverse is even true- I actually have no desire at all to P, M or O and given the choice of either, I would probably go "nah...". It's like I don't recognize myself and my body. I wish it was a flatline, but I know it's WAY to early for that and also I feel happy.
Is that common in the beginning? Is it just the uforia of my new resolve? I know it should get worse and the struggle is ahead, but its weirding me out.
Thanks!

Same thing happened to me.  I looked at porn on day, and the next day I was done.  No desire to look again, and I felt really good.

No desire for PMO immediately.  I did hit a flatline at about two weeks, but right from the beginning my desires were gone.

Thanks for the response!
Did the desires come back before flatlining?

Nope.

I'd say the first two weeks or so were pretty good.  Felt good.  No desire to look at porn.

Next few were flatline.  I was so depressed I couldn't get out of bed a couple days.

That has recently started to get better, although I still have anxiety and sleep problems.

The thing that's changed over the past week or two is my attraction to my wife.  I'm kind of going nuts for her.  I just can't kiss, touch, smell, or please her enough.

She's kind of freaked out, but I think she's going to be fine.

I'm not saying I'm anywhere close to being cured.  I still can't get an erection at all.

We do enjoy the fooling around, but it's really all just me doing stuff to her.

Good luck to you!  May you achieve your goals and your dreams!
