Breaking Free from Pornography
« on: April 10, 2016, 03:39:45 PM »
Hello everyone. My name is Sean, I'm 25 years old and from Neptune, NJ. I've been struggling with pornography addiction and masturbation addiction since I was 17. I still remember the day that I first started masturbating; I had saw a video that my dad had hidden in the basement and I've been hooked ever since. I used to be embarrassed about telling people about my addiction but I believe I'm here to tell my story to inspire others, while completely ridding myself of pornography and masturbation. I used to masturbate as a stress reliever and for a while, it seemed as if it worked but over time, I notice that I do get sleepy, irritable, lose focus, etc. now. The longest period I've gone without masturbation/pornography since I've started is a little over a month but I plan to make it for good after using this site and becoming more serious about my faith in God. It's been a long road but I know that every day is a new day. I plan to share my experiences and connect with others to overcome pornography/masturbation addiction.

I don't know what else really to put here but I'm excited for my journey ahead in rebooting.

I haven't used porn/masturbation today so here's my day counter to start off.

Thank you everyone for your support! I haven't been on here since I started my account, unfortunately. Not going to make excuses about it, but I have relapsed a few times since my last day. I'm going on 2 days now without pornography/masturbation. I've realized my biggest triggers are when I'm home alone, stressed out, or up late night. I've decided to work around these by working out, staying productive and finding ways to substitute my urge of addiction. I'm honestly feeling ok right now, not tempted at all and today was a great week. I now have a great girlfriend by my side who is aware of my addiction and she's been a huge support system for me. I also have strong faith in God; I know I will be tested in the future but I'm sure I'll push through and finally defeat this. One day at a time! :)

Until next time!
