Fixing Things.
« on: March 14, 2014, 01:15:21 PM »
So I finally realized why I could never stay hard when I'm about to have sex! I've been watching porn since I was 13. I'm 19 now. Everything makes so much more sense now. I am in a relationship with the love of my life. I want to be able to make love to her for a very long time. In order for that to happen I have to keep an erection! So I haven't been watching porn for about 10 days now? I have been beating it a lot. But I didn't last night so there's a start. Whenever I did I made sure I only thought about my girlfriend. It hasn't even been weird things, just regular stuff we always do. I see how porn has messed me up. Some of my thought processes about sex are just weird and I hate them. I want to fix them and I understand this is probably going to be a long process. I was just hoping for a little insight into how long it's going to take. I'm going to be very patient with this because I want her more than anything.

What's up Colb24,

I am glad you found us, and just know there have been many that have walked down the reboot path before you including me. You are not alone!

So you are able to get an erection and masturbate without porn right? If so that is a good sign that you are not as deep as others. Some guys need months before they can even get an erection to touch alone, it took me 15 months.

Now, it is not mandatory to give up masturbation during a reboot. However, it is HIGHLY suggested for guys with porn-induced ED, as it seems to speed up the reboot process and you may need a complete break from orgasm to regain sensitivity in your brains reward circuit. It is up to you though. My advice is go as long as you can without masturbating also.

Also, we do not know how thinking about a real person effects your reboot, so I can not say for sure if that is a good idea or not. But in my opinion I would avoid all fantasy during your reboot and have a mindset of "if it ain't real no deal".

There is no way to answer this, as everyone's brain is different. I would prepare for the long haul just incase. It tends to take younger guys who started on high-speed porn during adolescence a few months to reboot. However, with that said you seem to be able to already get it up to fantasy so you may not need that long.

Can you get it up to JUST soft touch alone, WITHOUT thinking about anything? If you can, your ED maybe more anxiety related.

Great attitude and mindset, just stay away from porn because it will never satisfy you.... and you know this.

Much love and welcome to Reboot Nation!

You have made a good choice. Don't expect miracles overnight but be assumed that progress will happen.

It's been a month without porn! I have cautious optimism about my progress. I don't really have any urges to start watching porn again. They are very few and far between. I have gone about 5 or 6 days with M too. I got to about 4 last time before I did it and I started over. Things I've noticed, I may have gone through some small withdrawal symptoms. There were days where I wouldn't feel any arousal at all. I thought today was one until I started fantasizing and noticed I got an erection. Another thing I noticed today, I think I have semen leakage. Like I wont even touch myself and there was clear liquid coming out of it when I had an erection. Is that part of my reboot? That was weird. I'd like for that part to be over. I've been encouraged about my erections. They've been better but not really spontaneous. If I fantasize I can get one, but it's still not 100% hard. I don't know how long that is going to take but I'm going to be patient with it. There's no rush at all, I just want to be healthier. I'm making a lot of changes in my life and this is one of them. I hope to have more good news next time I post.

P.S. I'd like to know how close or far I am, if anyone could let me know.

The urinary tract problems will probably resolve soon. I had similar problems and they were gone by the 6th week, maybe sooner.

As time passes you will reap more benefits.

I've gone about a week without M. It's been a month and a week without porn. My erections have slowed down. I don't think I've had one in two days. I used to always get them when I first started so that's kind of weird. Still no urges to watch porn. I haven't even really had the urge to use M. If I get one I just remember it's not going to help me get any better or fix this problem. I get discouraged at times because I just want to be better. I have to remember that it's a process and it could potentially take a lot of time. I want to practice being more patient with everything in my life, and this is no different. Hopefully in the next few weeks or so, I will be doing a lot better and making more progress.

The first month can be chaotic. It sounds like you are past that now.
