Doesn't make sense
« on: February 02, 2015, 01:03:00 AM »
Wtf is going on with me?  Went 41 days straight then relapsed, and now 4 days and another relapse.  Can't stop getting spontaneous erections and feeling overwhelmed by them!  Only had a two week flatline the entire time.  Anybody else feel like they get PMO tunnel vision?  Get rock hard for no reason at all and find it nearly impossible to not give in?

If you don't have an alternative plan, you'll probably give in. In my opinion, there's no enough willpower to beat this thing-

Well the great news is you've got 41 days and rock solid erections.  I long for that day myself.  Slipping a couple of times?  I agree with tostadora.  You need plans on being able to do something else when that occurs.  Since I haven't had the experience yet, I can't offer much in the way of tried and true approaches.  But when I quit smoking a long time back, I fell off the wagon several times.  None of that set me back, and I always kept at it until years later, here I am a non smoker.  You can do the same with porn.

Congratulations on that incredible 41 days.  I know you'll do that again, and more.  Keep going man.

Tunnel vision is commen whenever you feel stressed out by something that's challenging you. What's the remedy? Devise a plan to deliberately distract yourself from this unless you can stand the pressure. Turn off your computer - or even better, leave the room and go for a walk. Sometimes petty little things can make a huge difference.

Thanks for the comments guys.  My major problem is I developed my PIED during the last couple months of my wife's pregnancy and the ensuing weeks of no sex after.  I ramped up my PMO to unreal levels (sometimes five times a day) and seems like I royally screwed myself.  My problem now is the stress of working third shift and keeping the baby by myself during the day.  I still haven't tried to have sex with my wife yet due to fear of no boner again.  How do I know when that won't come back and am able to successfully have sex?

Since neither your body nor your psyche is a machine, you don't.
However, what you might know is when you start to feel like being yourself again, confident and optimistic. I doubt that your wife would get extremely upset in case your penis fell short of doing a proper pull-up, would she? From what I've heard, relationships in that particular time require some extra attentiveness and affection. It's not all about intercourse. Show her some appreciation, something that makes her feel good about herself (and your little one, of course). In the bedroom, you'll surely find some ways to restore some sexual activity. Focus on your goals - that is, being a father and all. Don't think of your days as trying not to masturbate but as making an attempt to free yourself from generally unhealthy behavior.
Hope that's not all bogus...all the best!

Yes, makes perfect sense. You experienced a good thing and celebrated it the wrong way. Like an ex-alcoholic opening a bottle of wine to celebrate his 50th sober day.
You are making progress. Despite your relapse. But you need to keep in mind that every relapse gets you closer back to old habit. The relapse itself does not set you back to zero. But it opens pathways for further lapses (as you've seen).

Having an erection while NOT looking at P is a great thing. Enjoy the moment! Feel the energy and the power. It's as it should be - a very masculine moment. Fapping to P is not masculine. Being proud about yourself, however, is. I don't know if this helps you, but it's way better to MO without P than relapsing to P. Maybe it's just how it should be. Your body demands attention. Maybe you should give in. Lay down, touch yourself, feel how good this is. How beautiful the tingling sensation in your body. Don't do it while watching P or thinking about it. Don't dream about your former role models. Just concentrate on yourself or the one girl you like. If you are on a hard reset, you will need something to distract you. Realize you are getting hard, smile about it and then do something to forget about it. If nothing helps, take a cold shower.
