Semi-unique problem? PLEASE HELP!
« on: April 07, 2014, 08:07:30 PM »
Ok, I have posted here before and was met with almost no input. I said I can do this without the help of other's and promptly "fell off the wagon". So after trying hard to refrain from "having myself" I failed multiple times and the proof that I am still sick came last Saturday.
Me and my wife had a couple over for some "play time" and while I was afraid I may have problems (as I did with the same couple a few months back) I was hopeful that I could over come the problem. I was sitting with my wife just an hour before they arrived and I just looked at my wife and started to get a massive erection and thought I was good to go. Not so much!
The couple came over and we shot the shit for a good while and then retired to the bed room. It was a giant disaster!!! I couldn't get any wood AT ALL! not even when I excused myself to the solitude of the rest room was I able to get anything going. However.....as soon as they left I was able to "perform" as I would have expected to be able to with the couple there. So WTF?! (I wasn't nervous or under pressure really). I tried to reboot a month ago and made it to about 14 days but fell off the wagon. I never experienced the dreaded dead dick problem and didn't really notice any decrease in sexual thought's or any of the things I  read would happen. How long realistically will it take before I get to the "dead dick" stage? and how long should I expect it to last? additionally, how long after that stage will it be (roughly, as I know everyone is different) before I am at least a step further in the process? I know it can take up to a year and I am so bad with the sexual bullshit I am afraid it will take that long. I just need "landmarks" to be on the look out for so I feel like I am actually making progress. So again, any input is greatly appreciated!

P.S- I think that I may have Bi-polar disorder and I know one of the manifestations is "hyper sexuality" so does this mean that if I am Bi polar, I will need to remedy that with medication before I can even attempt to reboot?

Based on your description it sounds like that instance may have been anxiety related, or mild PIED.

Guys frequently take longer than 2 weeks to go into a flatline... It took me a few myself. Everyone is different. As far as how long the flatline will last? No answer for that. All we can say is that if you are an older man who did not use internet porn during adolescence then your reboot may be on the faster side. My flatline lasted almost 6 months. Others last only a few weeks. Just have to go with the flow and report what happens.

A lot of guys say after a few weeks or a month or two they feel some libido surfacing and have a natural drive to talk to women and pursue a partner. Something to look for would be feelings of arousal when sexual thoughts or actions happen. During a flatline guys typically feel numb to all things sexually. The fact that you got excited for your wife before and after the incident is a good sign that if you have PIED it may be a mild case, and hopefully would not take very long to reboot. Just speculating though.

Well if you have porn-induced ED then you can reboot regardless of any other condition. There should be no danger in cutting out porn from your life lol. Anyone who suggest stopping porn use for a period of time can be dangerous is clearly not thinking right. If your problem was "hyper-sexuality" that would not explain why you could not get an erection when you desired.

We do not give medical advice here other than suggesting to check with doc to rule out organic causes. Then if you are clear from all known physical possibilities then it won't hurt to try a reboot.

Welcome to the Nation! Check those FAQ's and I hope the best for you

Ok great! thanks for the reply. I am only 32 so I have been at it with IP since it started when I was around 15. I fear I have a severe case of PIED since I have spent over 15 years M & O without impunity. I have been with my wife the entire time so I suppose that would be my saving grace....I have had regular sex with her during the entire time (thus the "hyper sexuality"). Regardless....I HAVE to beat this horrible problem and I will do everything I can to reboot successfully! Thanks again
