ED returned after MO
« on: March 01, 2019, 04:04:30 AM »
Hi guys,

I've successfully cured PIED after a streak of about 4 months and continued until I had a streak of 10 months, with lots of ups and downs along the way.

I was having sex with and without orgasm, and sex with orgasm would set me back a few days but never anything crazy.

Well I MO'd 7 days ago and have had complete flatline symptoms since, dead shrunken and lightweight penis, complete ED, no morning or night wood.

Would MO send me all the way back to square one just like that. It's the first time in 10 months I have orgasmed without a partner...

Hey Gavalar09,

I experienced the same thing as you recently. Went 90 day nofap streak. The only difference is I MO'ed to my own fantasy/literary erotica multiple times. Got a huge flatline from it, so yes it's possible.

In my unlicensed opinion, your flatline due to MO could be caused by the following:

1. You MO'ed to fantasy. This activates the porn pathways in your brain and sends it into a flatline because it wants you to seek a stronger kick of dopamine.

2. You did not MO to fantasy, but your masturbation habits are strongly tied to porn, which activates the pathways and makes your brain want a stronger kick of dopamine.

I don't think you're back at square one. It's just that we have to learn to differentiate our natural libido from porn induced cravings. The flatline is the way of the brain telling you it wants a higher burst of dopamine is what I think, it's most likely not your real libido. Also 10 months is probably not enough to recover if you were a heavy porn user like me. I'll likely need years of recovery before I even consider MO and even then I'd be scared to.

Noah Church has a video all about libido v. porn cravings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOHsITPxjlM

Here's another video by Church related to masturbation and whether it's healthy to not fap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1FtZB1WKKg

I'd recommend not fapping for way longer than 10 months, possibly years. If you do decide to masturbate, use lube and gentle hand movements focusing only on sensation (no fantasy). However, I've found out I'm too wired to porn/climaxing to do this, so I've decided to eliminate masturbation completely. It's different for everyone though so don't just take my word for it, you know your body better than anyone else.

Wishing you great success.

What did your flatline after entail? What were your symptoms?

My dicks shrunk and I can't get hard at all.

How long did it take for you to get out that flatline?

Still in one at the moment. Seeing flashes of libido though after around 2 weeks. My flat lines have gotten more severe each time I relapse I find, but honestly flat lines don't mean much. Flatlines are the way the brain tries to trick you into getting a dopamine surge. Ignore it and pay no mind. Keep away from MO for a long time, stick to real partners and continue rewiring. Don't overdo the O's is key.

My symptoms are that I have fewer sexual thoughts, erections are less intense/are unstable. Dick overall just feels less alive.

But seriously though, don't focus on it. You'll find that sometimes you react differently to a real partner v. when you're thinking it over by yourself. Please watch the Noah Church videos and take whatever findings are useful for you.

When was your last relpase?

I can usually force erections though and during flatlines my penis doesn't move an inch at all.

Do you have morning/night wood?

I'm worried i won't be okay with a real partner, my girlfriend just broke up with me so no way of testing with anyone real for a long time.

Same thing can happen and it throw you into a flatline if you masturbate to porn, right?

I wish that this was more spoken about. Seems like everyone gets into flatline through NoFap where me and Gavalar09 got into one via fapping.

Ok, just to clear up some concepts. The flatline, from my experience, is a way of your brain telling you that it is not getting enough stimulus. Your flatline may not even have anything to do with your actual sex drive. Do not worry about performing with a partner. You may find that a real partner will arouse you even though you're in a flatline (which has happened to me).

If you are not aroused though, this just means you need more time abstaining from PMO and MO. Also means you must continue rewiring with real partners in a healthy way (do not watch porn with your partner, do not overdo the orgasms, do not feel pressure to perform). Let your partner know about your condition so you can continue to apply proper treatment.

Do not avoid dating because you have PIED (which is what I used to do). This will only further inhibit your progress by isolating you, delay rewiring and add temptation to MO or PMO. Take as much time as you need to feel ready but don't overdo your alone time.

The thing is, your brain is craving porn and so it's making you numb so you feel you need an extra kick. Do not do this. Continue to abstain from PMO (Preferably MO as well). I myself will not be MO'ing for a LONG time.

As for your question scorpion, masturbating to porn will 100% throw you into a flatline. Nofap does not throw you into a flatline, a lack of satisfying your brain's dopamine kick requisites causes a flatline. Your brain needs time to go back to wanting normal, natural surges of dopamine.

I relapsed around two weeks ago Gavalar. I have little to no morning wood at the moment. Very few horny moments in my day. However, morning wood doesn't really mean anything sometimes. I've heard of guys that have morning wood and still have problems. However, this past weekend I was able to have an erection even though I drank a lot beforehand and was in a flatline. It did take a lot of time to get an erection, but I think it boils down to being patient, honest with your partner and taking pressure off yourself to perform. Being with a real partner is different somehow.

I highly recommend you guys read this article: https://www.yourbrainonporn.com/porn-induced-sexual-dysfunctions/help-i-quit-porn-but-my-potency-genital-size-and-or-libido-are-decreasing-flatline/

Erectile dysfunction can be a total inability to achieve or maintain an erection, an inconsistent ability to do so, or a tendency to sustain only brief erections. These variations make defining Erectile dysfunction and estimating its incidence difficult. Estimates range from 15 million to 30 million, depending on the definition used. It is a kind of heath disorder that doesn't have any cure but it is treated with Sildalis medicine.
