Who here has seen a physician about their ed?
« on: March 03, 2017, 10:53:34 AM »
To be honest, the prospect scares me a little.  What sorts of questions did your doctor ask?  Did they run any tests?  Was it awkward?  I'm just wondering what I should expect if I talk to my physician about this.

I don't think you should ever feel awkward around your doctor. First of all, they are trained professionals who look upon your body as a puzzle to be solved, and don't see you as a criminal before a judge. Secondly, you're probably going to have other "awkward" subjects to bring up with your doctors in your lifetime, so what is the alternative?

Been there......I've seen (3) doctors over a two year span. My GP, an Endo and a urologist. None of them were familiar nor heard of PIED.

Wow, I've seen GPs, sex therapists, urologists over the last 8 years or so (was that long ago when I first realised I couldn't get it up with a woman, at all) and back then no one ever hinted at the porn. They instead, encouraged me to watch it. Now, when I mention the porn, they don't immediately dismiss it, but they brush over it.

My doctor did not know of PIED or flatlines. He just gave me a testosterone test which I came at 87 (good) and 6 viagras. My problem is PIED and many doctors are clueless

Your T tested @ 87? Is that your Free T? Mine was 318 and that's low.

I've seen a doctor, had T tested and thyroid. I'm also seeing a sexologist. They both say my ED is caused because I'm in a depression. My doctor has prescribed me some antidepressant (mirtazepine is the only one I've agree to take since the others had ED as side effect). I believe  I have a combinaison of PIED and effect of depression. I'm 1 month into my reboot. I believe it's really important to be fully honest with your doctor. Take a T test if it can reassure you

Thanks for your responses, that's helpful.  Just wondering what I should expect from the doctor's visit.
