Captivated by online porn as a child, Gabe consistently watched high-speed internet porn from the age of 12. Growing up in a time and culture where watching porn was normal, He had no idea that what he thought was pleasurable, fun and “sex-positive” could actually have a negative effect on him. As time went by his ability to become aroused with a real girl decreased, and eventually became dependent on porn and developed porn-induced erectile dysfunction (PIED) at the age of 23.
Now, fully recovered, with years of studying porn addiction and monitoring recovery forums, he runs RebootNation.org, a free online community to help addicts and their partners overcome problems related to porn use. With a passion for helping others and raising awareness, Gabe now speaks internationally, and has shared his story with Katie Couric, Huffington Post and Cosmopolitan UK among others. Charlie has been involved with the rebooting movement since late 2012 when he discovered that his sexual dysfunction was due to extensive pornography use dating back to the 3rd grade. He permanently quit pornography soon after identifying the cause of his erectile dysfunction, and now hasn't viewed pornography for over two years. During this time, Charlie developed a true passion for the emerging pornography addiction and sexual dysfunction phenomenon, and is now a moderator on Reboot Nation and Your Brain Rebalanced. Additionally, he also co-founded the Your Brain Rebalanced Podcast, which is a radio-show dedicated to humanizing issues surrounding pornography addiction. Charlie is also highly interested in research involving the issue; his descriptive senior thesis at the University of Minnesota was titled Pornography Addiction and Sexual Dysfunction. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in psychology. Outside of his interest in sexual health, Charlie enjoys working out, playing guitar, and comedy television. Click here to contact Charlie.
A child of the Internet Age, Noah B.E. Church regularly used Internet porn from age 9. Throughout his entire adulthood and without knowing why, Noah was impotent when it came to real-life sex. Then, on January 1st, 2014 at the age of 24, Noah saw The Great Porn Experiment and started his no-porn, no masturbation journey, thus recovering from porn-induced erectile dysfunction and rediscovering his passion, ambition, and capacity for love and joy in the process. Forever changed by this journey, he realized he had to share his story and what he had learned in order to help others suffering with porn addiction and porn-induced problems. Dan has been rebooting for over a year, and in that time has been on a journey of self-discovery. Having suffered from depression almost all his life, from the age of eight, Dan started using porn at the age of 15 as a crutch. He was addicted from the moment he first saw it. Having suffered from severe ED and DE, Dan maintains that much of his recovery lay in a balanced and self-forgiving approach to rebooting. Dan is now living in Berlin pursuing a career as a writer and musician, and meditates regularly. Dan has seen the healing affects meditation and mindfulness first hand, and wants to help people by sharing his story, the science behind porn addiction, and ways in which we can apply meditation and mindfulness to aid our recovery.
