Thought you all might enjoy this. If you see yourself in here, don't despair! I used to be a lot like this, but change is definitely possible.

Porn Addiction / Honest commercial for porn (SFW)

If there were commercials for porn, and if they were honest...

Amazing presentation, Gabe!! Even better the second time around ;)

For those who were asking, here's mine that took place right after:

I got to present at the CESE conference in Houston last year with Gabe Deem, Gary Wilson, and Haley Halverson! My talk should help you understand why PMO can be so damaging and hard to quit:

I know Gabe already started a thread about his talk, but in case you missed it:

I hope you all are having a wonderful PMO-free day  :D

Porn Addiction / Instead of fapping, I made this video

Hi rebooters! I want to thank you all for being awesome, especially Gabe if he reads this. Back in 2014 when I started this journey he was the only guy recovered from PIED who was putting his face out there and telling it like it was. He helped inspire me to do the same. Thanks, Gabe :D

Here's a little PSA video I made for the new year to help you keep your commitments to yourselves. Hope ya'll enjoy it and keep 2017 porn free!  :)

Women / Jessica's recovery from porn addiction
« on: December 14, 2016, 06:53:03 PM »
Hi! I'm not a woman, but from talking with a lot of women who struggle with porn use, I know that it can be even more difficult for ya'll to recover because there's even less support out there for you. Most people seem to only recognize porn addiction as a man's problem and there aren't many women out there speaking out about their experiences and offering examples of female recovery. That's why I was super excited to meet Jessica Harris and get to interview her! I hope her story helps:

Success Stories / 70 Years Old, Finally Free of a 50+ Year Addiction to Porn

Hey ya'll, I interviewed Ross Smith, who's got some really interesting perspectives on how porn use can affect our lives long term and how it's never too late to quit and start living a happier life. Send him some love!

Porn Addiction / CC: I missed out on the best years of my life
« on: October 23, 2015, 04:53:38 PM »
Hey ya'll, since I've been sharing my story of porn addiction and recovery and what I've learned on this journey, a lot of people have sent me their stories and asked for counsel. I get a lot of very similar questions over and over, so I started to make my responses public. This week I received a question about how to avoid getting dragged down by regret due to wasting "the best years of my life" on porn.

Here are a few more--check out for more of them.

Will giving up porn give me superpowers?:

How do I keep going even when I lose motivation?:

Will my penis be shriveled and numb forever? (the flatline):

How long to recover from PIED?:

I hope these help. If you have a story or question that you'd like my feedback on in this way, you can send me 3-4 detailed but concise paragraphs on these boards or to ""

Dude it must been tough to open yourself and people start to laugh. Were you expecting that? How did you deal with it?
Congratulations for your courage. Your video was very inspirational!

Haha yeah I was more than expecting it, I was planning on it. People are more receptive if you make them laugh first. It may not have seemed funny to you guys, but that's because you know so much about porn addiction and have a lot of pain associated with it. I think many were laughing at first because they saw themselves in the story.

Hello, reboot nationals! A few weeks ago I publicly told my story of being addicted to porn from age 9-24, PIED, NoFap, recovery, love, sex, life, etc., and I wanted to share it with the people here. I hope it inspires someone.

You're the first I've spoken with to describe those exact experiences, but the mental/emotional state of many rebooters goes through a huge flux as withdrawals kick in and the brain strives to find a new balance. If this journey gave you a panic attack, I have no doubt that it may bring about other such severe symptoms such as depersonalization. It can take many months without porn to adjust to your new reality, but after long enough all withdrawal symptoms should resolve. If it doesn't, then it may have another cause, and I'd recommend seeing a professional.

After your 100 days you went back to porn? How did that affect the depersonalization?

By depersonalization, you mean the feeling of being outside of yourself or being disengaged with reality? Looking back, yes I have had many experiences like this, but they were never severe or long-lasting enough for me to seek help with them. I haven't felt this way in awhile, and that may very well be related to no PMO. Do you find that depersonalization causes you to give into urges more easily?
