Day 5: Just checking in after a nice long weekend away. I've been off Facebook for 5 days and the world hasn't ended. I watched some snippets of the presidential debates in YouTube but don't consider this relapse as I'm far from the binge watching I'd done on YouTube the past year. My mind feels a bit foggy, likely because for a few days I haven't given it the dopamine hits from porn subs. While lethargic, I feel I'm on the right track.

Hello nation. I'm checking in on day 1 porn-sub free. Yesterday was a mixed bag. I made my goals and will today work a timed 3.5 hours, exercise, and remain off of my porn-subs. Will check in at the end of the day or tomorrow. Thanks for reading friends.

Just read your thread. Question: how often are you masturbating? Masturbation can also be an addiction and as others have shared, it often fires up the same neural pathways. I agree that you should try hard mode, 90 days without MO, edging, or fantasy.

Day 0: Yesterday was a bit of a write off work-wise. I spend most of the day playing video games, surfing news sites, and even a little YouTube. But I'm making progress because I'm not losing myself in videos like I did in the past. But still, these are early days my friends. In short, I did sweet f*ck all like on a porn binge day. "Progress not perfection" as they say in 12-step programs. So I've re-set my counter to day 1 and will start over. My goals today are:

- 3.5 hours of work (have already done an hour)

- Stay off my porn-sub websites (Facebook, YouTube, news feeds etc)

- Exercise (arms today) just heading to the gym now

- Check in at the end of the day

Wish me luck my friends.

Day 5: Feeling good this morning, although I had to drop my friend off very early at the train station so that f*cked up my sleep schedule somewhat. Today's goals are:

- 3.5 hours of work

- Stay off my porn-sub websites (Facebook, YouTube, news feeds etc)

- Exercise (arms today)

- Check in at the end of the day

Wish me luck!

Day 4: Smooth sailing. Have a friend visiting from the US so we've been doing lots of active touristy things together...but offline. Feels good to be away from the computer (and away from Facebook/YouTube). That's all for now.

I'd suggest reading "Your Brain on Porn" because what you've described are the classic effects of long-term dopamine/porn addiction. From what I understand, what we are addicted to is arousal or the anticipation of sex, rather than the sex itself. I remember when I was deep into my addiction, clicking from video to video, edging for hours, only to climax and post-ejaculation I'd feel completely hollow and perhaps a bit ashamed. A healthy brain gets pleasure from having sex, whereas the porn addict's brain gets most of its pleasure from a semi-permanent state of screen and video arousal. No one partner can satisfy the porn addict's constant need for newness and novelty. What you've described is what I experienced as well, a huge feeling of arousal and yet very little pleasure from the sexual act. This is because I trained my brain that way. But it got better.  Our brains need time to rewire from screens = sex to woman = sex. We are, in essence, re-learning true sex and intimacy. I'd say give it time my friends and don't get too frustrated. In the meantime, I'd stop trying to re-create porn scenes in the bedroom. Find other ways to give and receive pleasure without the laser-like focus on penetration and porn-like erections. This can include kissing, oral, and massage to name a few. Once I took the emphasis off my dick, I just naturally started to perform again. Hope that helps!

Day 2: Had a rocky sleep last night but still committed to remaining porn-sub free. It's all about the dopamine. Also just about to celebrate two years of living without porn. Today's goals are:

- 3 hours of work

- Stay off my porn-sub websites (Facebook, YouTube, news feeds etc)

- Exercise (back day today)

- Check in at the end of the day

Wish me luck friends.

Congratulations on the recent job promotion. I've just read through your previous posts. Depending on the severity of our porn habits, withdrawal and flatline often begin around the three-week mark so I'd be ready with a plan should things get rough. In my first month of reboot, I worked out hard to burn off the sexual energy and keep from fapping. I look forward to your next update.

Just a shout out to write that your posts are great fun and encouraging reading as well.

Hey gang. I was feeling the itch to surf porn-subs just now and thought I'd post here instead. Just checking in. Hope you are all well and porn-free today.

Day 1: Hey gang. I've kicked the porn habit and haven't watched any porn in years. But I'm now trying to kick porn-subs like Facebook, YouTube, etc. which are how I'm getting dopamine hits. My goal: get back to work because I'm having trouble concentrating. I'm going to start with a 90-day hard mode reboot from all porn subs. I've installed K9 blocker on my computer, have blocked these sites, and have also added a friend as the administrator, and just finished day 1. I've all but lost my ability to work so I set a goal of 2.5 hours work today and finished 3.5 hours. So I'll try for 3 hours of work tomorrow and will slowly add 30 mins a week until I'm back working how I did before porn/porn-sub addiction (8-10 hrs/day). Today is day 1 and I'll check in daily to stay focused.
