Is it important to not masturbate during rebooting?

I have been porn free for 1.3 years. I do masturbate from time to time. Some masturbations are pleasurable and provide a somewhat decent boner, other are not so satisfying and dont produce a good boner.

However reading through the forum I realized it was recommended not to masturbate during rebooting. I found this a bit weird, because if you don't masturbate at all, then when you have your next sexual experience you will have PE for sure and wont last even a minute.

Maybe that I understand rebooting the wrong way. Are we supposed to go through long periods (how long?) of NO SEX at all, i.e no masturbation and no real sex with a girl? Then before we go back to real sex with a girl, we are supposed to masturbate before to avoid PE?

Any thoughts on that?

This is one that really depends on you. I think that it's generally a good idea to abstain from MO during the initial reboot period (usually about 90 days but this will vary based on you). Some people choose to continue to refrain from MO as they feel it will lead then back to PMO, and thus only pursue real sex with women. Others find that they can begin to MO for the release without relapsing. The caveat here is that if you decide to MO it should be to sensation only, meaning that you should avoid fantasizing when you MO as that is basically activating the same neural pathways as porn
