I am a 21 year old male. I've been struggling against porn and masturbation since I was 13. I've tried stopping many times before, the longest I've ever lasted is 40 days. I can't take it anymore, I really need to stop this once and for all.

This is the first time I've tried using a journal, I know it's going to help.

Today is my first day, lets see how it goes.

So day one has been completed. I'm happy to say that it was successful. I kept myself busy, mostly with studying. The rest of the time I spent with family and around people.

Everything is still going well... Keeping the mind occupied really helps to keep the urges away. I know I need to find a replacement for PMO, I'm trying exercise from today. If anyone has some advice, please share it with me.

Iwillwin.. you're doing great!  I've been going to the Gym at 630am every morning and throw all my energy into it.  Its great for depression,  anxiety,  mind and body.  One drawback tho is it increases testosterone.  You don't have to join a gym. . Walking does wonders for depression and anxiety.  I've been six days and on my second  reboot so I know how hard it is to not PMO. I find that getting up early and staying busy helps me.  I'm usually too exhausted by 9pm to jack off!  Hang in there  Bud!  :)

Glad you are doing well.  You might consider changing your goal counter to 50 days.  You said the longest you have gone is 40 days.  Well, go 50 then 100 and so on.  Don't make goals too easy to accomplish but not so far out that you get discouraged if you don't get it.

Nifty suggested working out.  A good suggestion.  Change your routines and have a plan on how you are going to handle the urges when they come.  They WILL come and you need to know what you are going to do to handle them.  They will pass also.

Find things that are good for you that will take your mind off the feelings you are having.

Stay strong brother.  This is something we all struggle with but it is something we can do together.

Thanks guys for the advice, I really appreciate it.

So yesterday was a real battle, my internet filtering system went down. So while I was fixing it, I had full access to the internet. The urges were really strong. What really helped me to overcome the urges was to keep my mind focused on the task at hand. Also understanding what is going on in my brain helps to stand strong. The articles on yourbrainonporn.org helped a lot. I also did some breathing exercises and mediated on some bible verses which also helped.

Today has been OK so far, there has been urges but my determination to win this battle is keeping me going strong.
