Software help - blocking porn

Hey all,

Hoping someone with an IT background can help.

I'm wanting to download some software to block porn on my PC, iPad and iPhone when I'm connected to wifi. My home internet doesn't have a router than can be configured. I set up open DNS on my PC manually and that works great... But I can't seem to set it up on my iPad or iPhone. I looked at the iOS 7 restriction controls... But it filters stuff like info on pied which is not what I want.

Anyone got any suggestions??

what I did on my phone (it's a Huawei) is install K9 as a browser, then I installed applock to block apps I thought might tempt me, you can even block built in apps and (as I did) block the install/uninstall option that way I couldn't install porn apps or uninstall applock without having to reset my phone, it isn't perfect as it requires you to make a password that is impossible to remember (you can give them to me or to others if need be) and you can restore your phone back to factory settings but it can give you enough time to resist the urge and maybe even stop from relapsing.

hope that helped.

You can manually set DNS servers on smartphones, but the setting only apply to WiFi connections. Mobile data will still use DNS servers provided by your ISP. Ad blockers don't seem to support custom lists on mobile devices. You could still a wireless access point to your network and set up your blocks there.
