Depression in first days of non porn use for over 60 male

My depression and anxiety are off the chart.  4 days of no PMO.  Have others found this to be the case?  Or am I dealing with more than just porn withdrawal?

Financial issues have scared me my entire life - 64 now and was scared financially when I left college - first day of work.  Porn answered the call for a long time for that fear.

Just wondering if will see some easing of this intense depression / anxiety because these first days are hell.  I understand dopamine receptors are damaged but wondering if mine are irreparably damaged.  Probably need older addicts here to weigh in or maybe it is bad for all ages.

it is bad for all ages but i guess some of us were not born when you started to PMO. yes all the suppressed feelings will come up. you stopped using porn to escape them so expect a lot of fear, anxiety and depression but if you are going through hell just keep going. visit YBOP for a lot of good articles, the more you know what is going on, easier it can get to go through it. you will also find reports from people of your age so you can fully relate.

Yes i experienced such a thing in the early days of my reboot, not intense but i felt anxious, depressed and swinging mood. One day im happy and fine then the next day im anxious and depressed and so on. As the time pass by, u will start to feel better and better. Be patient, its a slow process and u wont heal overnight.

Thanks - I feel so much guilt for putting my wife in such a precarious financial position.  And so lacking confidence to work - as feared work failure all my life
