Did I relapse??

Last night I had a dream that I was and all of the sudden some flashes of pornography came up in the dream. Out of instinct I began to touch myself, but after 2 or 3 seconds I realized what I was doing and stopped. I still felt the rush of dopamine going through my body, did I hurt my recovery by doing this or is it not a big deal?

A rule of thumb for you: if it isn't an act of will, a deliberate choice, it isn't a relapse.  If it is your brain, against your will, trying to push something on you, it isn't a relapse.

Flashbacks will happen, even when you're in a dead sleep.  They aren't relapses unless you make the call to follow through on something.  From the sounds of it you stopped as soon as you had even the smallest amount of control, so I'd say you did well!

Not a relapse. There was no artificial stimulation, it was just a dream which in itself isn't real and is uncontrollable. Such dreams are a natural part of the reboot just the same as dreams of smoking cigarettes after you have quit are.
You didn't relapse and you're still doing a great job. Best to ignore it

No relapse. These things happen from time to time. I've messed with myself almost on instinct when similar things have happened too. Instead I think you should congratulate yourself on the small victory of stopping yourself and not giving in. You won this battle. Keep at it because you are winning.

No, you did not relapse. Even when I managed to stay away from pornography for two years, I still had those kinds of dreams every so often, frequently accompanied by nocturnal emissions. You can't control what you dream.

Congrats on stopping yourself.

Thx for the answer guys,

It was a very intense experience. It was like a come-up of an acid trip. I hadn't realized that the dopamine rush could be so insane. Now I understand that people get addicted to this. To think how numbed I must have been to not react at all when masturbating. No wonder I didn't feel any energy and was like a lifeless zombie. If this doesn't even do anything for you, how could anything else possibly do?

Yeah its a scary experience and just goes to prove how powerful the addiction was / is. You might not be shooting any junk into your viens, but you still act and feel like a junky when you dont get that hit.
Anyway, well done on getting over it! Youre winning!

It's not a relapse.

It is one of the symptoms that you may face during recovery (pornographic flashbacks)

Don't worry, it did happen to me before

Good luck on your journey, all the best
