How does it work?

I am reading up on this like crazy now, but cannot find an answer ot theory for this.

I always had a hard-ish time with sex for the first time with a new mate. I blamed this on anxiety. Recently, I have seen this escalate and a final disastious experience brought me here and I now realize that it is porn induced.

I can get it up quick using porn.
I can get it up semi-quick only masturbating, but then fantazising about porn, or nude models, to be precise, that I can think up various scenarios with.
I can be with a super hot woman, and not get a hard on even though I am turned on as crazy.

I went to a doctor and he gave me Viagra. Will that work? I am not planning having sex (I have no girlfriend) but I am curious on how that will work. Is the blue pill useless here, or will it be useful as a cruth?

Bro go to yourbrainonporn.com and watch every video you can find espcially the ted talk one. The pill wont work or it will but if youre like everyone else on here who is PIED then it wont work. You see the problem is within your brain not your penis.

Well for me viagra indeed does work, but it may feel a bit mechanical as you really arent even that turned on but still get steel hard. But if you have serious PIED, then it is possible that even viagra wont do the job. And If you try it, I strongly suggest you do it on empty stomach, because when you are full and take it, it feels like it takes hours to work if even then.

I have, for the past years been working out a lot, had a very clean diet and focusing on testosterone ( training, sleeping, taking the right minerals and vitamins and supplements like horny goat weed, ginseng etc)

is that something that will be benefitial to my recovery and to cure my impotence, and should I continue on that path as I reboot?

Of course! Testosterone is vitally important! It helps with mood, dopamine, sexuality etc. And everything that promotes healthy testosterone helps with brain function and recovery. Keep on going!

Thanks!

Not been able to work out yet. Too much stomach cramps and feeling sick. Will make another try tomorrow. However, good to know that I have some lifestyle habits that will help me through this.

Do what rickster said.

Blue pills, working out for testosterone, healthy eating etc. are fine but they are red herrings...you have PIED and you need to do a hard mode reboot. I'm saying this to save you time and frustration. Don't look for the easy way out. Go hardmode. Learn all about everything at yourbrainonporn.com

Thanks.

to make it clear what my focus is (I have started a journal in the 40+ forum)

I will do a complete reboot
I will cut porn from my life
I will kick this addiction

The reason I am asking about these other things is actually two fold.

1. I do seek some comfort now, as the journey seems daunting and, to be honest, completely impossible
2. For personal reasons, I might be in a sexual situation with a woman within weeks or a couple of months. I am not expecting to be some sort of sex God by then, but I would like to know if the Viagra and other stuff could be beneficial, as a temporary aid as I am healing.

also, I suppose, I need the reassurance that my ENTIRE lifestyle hasn't been wasted, as I just did. That the working out, the supplements, the diet will be weapons that will aid me in this battle I am facing.

Phase 2 - yes, you are right and I thank you for being clear. I am on day 6 on a hard reboot and tomorrow will be day 7, the day after day 8 and so on. There is no alternative, no matter what.

Only thing that will 100% certainly cure PIED and all these problems porn is causing, is to kick the addiction and reboot. But you will get tremendous help from active lifestyle, working out, eating healthy and sleeping enough at night. If you want to read more info about how diet etc can be beneficial in reboot, you can read my post here:

I highly recommend Intermittent fasting for you, it helps also for bodybuilding if thats your thing. Read about it in Leangains or Brad Pilons Eat Stop Eat. Intermittent fasting has helped me alot.
Good luck Gummianka :)

Actually thinking of taking the fasting one more step, and do a 24 or 48 hour fasting next weekend. I have found that fasting is a great way to "fast forward" any kind of recovery, so perhaps it will work kicking this habit as well.

I did my first 36h fast this week and gotta say, I liked it and have been feeling like I got 10% skip in this rebooting progress. My libido today is 8/10 and week ago was 3/10.  Coincidence or not, who knows but its still great way to give body and brain a rest and let it heal!

Im 22, been rebooting for 10 months with some relapses here and there, but now I am completely free of that habit and i can resist cravings 100%. I have this feeling that in a few months I might be almost cured, I just have to be clean and learn to natural sex and have my libido back. You might be in the clear quicker, because of past sexual experiences and not "learning sexuality from internet porn" like we young dudes..

What do you lot think the impact is of  taking Viagra to assist an erection but not actually having an O whilst on it? How detrimental/negligible? Is it a form of edging? Is karezza a form of edging?  I know this question comes up again and again, but  will taking half a bluey or a full one once or twice to O with a partner completely curtail progress or merely slow it?

You guys give fasting your golden seal of approval for the rebooting process then?
I can't imagine starving my body of vital vitamins and nutrients could ever help me i work out already and i reckon i'd pass out having not eaten for 48 hours it'd be dangerous surely,
If you're overweight maybe yes but damn this aint ramadan is it.

I have been using fasting as a part of my training for about 1 1/2 years. About 16 hours each day. No idea how it works regarding rebooting, but for mental clarity, burning fat and building lean muscle - with the right training of course, it works miracles. As long as you eat enough and quality stuff during your eating windows.

Nomoreporn, you should read some myths that have been broken by Martin Berkham, in Leangains. Fasting is a natural state for human, it boosts growth hormone enormously, it heals brain cells, it burns fat, it boosts norephineprine and by doing so boosts mental clarity and mood. You will not pass out, you will not even be very hungry the longer you go. You wont rum out of vitamins etc. Fasting helps body work in 100%, when constantly eating makes you insulin resistant, messes with your hunger hormones. Seriously, read on the subject and you will be surpriced! And yes, I am 100% sure after reading many many scientific pieces that fasting helps in all kinds of recovery, even heart attack ;D

Agree on all that was said above. I have not seen the effect on rebooting (since I have been fasting AND using porn at the same time) but for other areas of life, fasting is really great,. I found intermitted fasting a bit hard for the first two weeks, but after that it is easy, it is part of my life and I have no problem at all doing it. That and cold showers have been a great combo for me.

I pray that it will make my recovery quicker, easier and better from porn as well.
