No Porn for 65 weeks but still not healed

It has now been 65 weeks since I last watched porn however I don't feel like I've gotten my sex drive back. I really "want" to want to have sex but that primal desire most of the time doesn't seem to be there.

Most of the time I can't get a hard erection to my own touch which wasn't the case back in my porn watching days on the occasions when I would masturbate from imagination. I sometimes get strong erections when fantasising about real girls or when I felt like I've been close to having sex with someone but I have little control over when.

To give some background on my journey when I first stopped watching porn, I didn't masturbate for 8 weeks. After a brief sexual encounter (my only one for last 65 weeks) I've masturbated around once a week on average but four or five times have taken a break for a month or so. When I have taken a break I've often had a wet dream after about a month. I've sporadically used dating apps on and off but haven't done so for the last 3 months.

If anyone has any recommendations for what things I should be looking at it would be much appreciated. Do I need to look at a long period of abstaining from masturbation? Should I start doing Kegels? Is the issue that I've practically been celibate for over a year and not been intimate with any girls since I stopped watching porn.

I think to mastubate delays the process of rebooting. Because you arent teaching to your brain that you should be excited with someone else, but with yourself and your imagination.

You are just justify something you dont need to be doing. You need to go cold Turkey... no pmo what so ever.

Cold turkey is the way, and paradoxically, it's a lot easier than soft mode in my humble opinion. I tried soft mode several times in my life and it would always lead me back to porn and got addicting in itself. Abstaining from PMO became like a lifestyle for me and 90% of the days, I don't even think about abstaining from P or M because it has become the new norm.

All the best!

You will need to go in 'monk' mode that is abstain from any kind of (sexual) images that fact that you are using dating apps is major mistake that I have made during my rebooting process. You will need to abstain from any kind of visual image of a female (PC, Smartphone, TV, Mags) etc.

I know its very difficult in this social media age, where one can easily see sexually alluring women on so many platforms, it's best to get rid of the smartphone for a while. Of course u need to abstain from sexual thoughts and wanking !
