Hello,

i'm a 17 year old boy from the netherlands.

A few months ago I started to have problems with my erection, i've been PMO'ing almost every day. I think since i turned 14. also edged a lot when i had my good erections, is this a bad thing? Maybe death grip, i dont know...
I do get morning wood when i wake up.

I tried to have sex a couple of times with the same girl who I love , but when i want to penetrate my dick gets soft. Sometimes I had a good erection, but most of the time i didn't.I never had sex before.
I also noticed that i almost had no sensivity, i even didn't noticed that my penis was in her vagina!
I also hadproblems getting an erection when i fap alone, with fantasy and sometimes with porn.
But currently i started no PMO'ing, and i haven't PMO'd for 24 days.

I also saw my psychologist, and showed him YBOP.
He told me that he thought that PIED isn't my problem. But he thought i was anxious for not maintaining an erection?
I always thought that when you suffer from performance anxiety, you shouldn 't have trouble getting it up when you 're alone masturbating?

I'm smoking weed like 4 times a week, is this a bad thing for my erection?

I really want to know long will it take to cure from my PIED, and if I will ever be cured?
I'm also very scared that i'll loose her because of this, I will talk about it with her asap.
I'm thinking about my PIED all day, even at work! How can I stop this? I'm getting crazy about it

Thx for reading

If you have consistent erections with pornography, and inconsistent or no erections without, then you do likely have PIED. Morning erections do not necessarily rule it out.

I do agree with your psychologist that you have a lot of anxiety about it. If nothing else, your post shows an extremely high level of anxiety about your current situation. That's not a criticism; I definitely understand being anxious about this type of thing especially at your age.

I'm not surprised he doubted that PIED is your problem as its recognition has been slowly coming along and it somewhat recent. I would not even be surprised if this was the first he'd heard about it.

At any rate, getting away from the habit you have fallen into with PMO is a worthwhile venture. Barring any medical issues, being PMO free for a period of time should help your erection and sensitivity issues. And being PMO free cannot possibly hurt you. You do not need it to survive.

If you have trouble getting an erection while alone and you are a habitual porn user than this is PIED.  Trust your instincts.  Do you think it's anxiety?  Do you think it's porn?  Cut out the porn for a few months and see what happens.  There are many benefits to cutting out porn besides just battling PIED.  It can also help your anxiety.
