Over 4 years and no results

Hey everyone,
First time posting.  I've been rebooting as advised by gabe, Noah, etc for 4 years with no results.  No libido or morning wood.  I've been to 3 doctors including a urologist with all test coming back normal.  I'm at the end of myself and have a hard time believing the process works considering no results.  Has anyone heard of someone healing where it takes them 5 years or longer when they have never relapsed, mo'd, fantasized etc?  I heard Noah say in a video it would take 2 months to 2 years.  Well, I'm at 4 years.  Only used porn consistently for 1 and a half years.  After 1 year I took a whole year off then went back to porn for 6 months and the symptoms started.  Looks like most people used porn way more than me on average.  Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

This seems like a really exceptional case. Do you have PIED or just no libido? What are your symptoms like? How old are you?

Are you doing complete hard mode? No sex?

Guys thanks for the replies.  I'm 34 now and this started at 30.  In the beginning I mo'd a few times and have had a few orgasms with girls but 90% of the time complete hard mode.  Never once watched porn in last 4 years.

From time to time I do wake up with morning wood.  On a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 7 or 8.  Have woke up once about a year ago with a 10 after a night of drinking too much.  Don't know if that had anything to do with it.  So clearly it works.  First sign I saw 4 years ago was when I was in the middle of watching porn.  Couldn't get hard all the way.  So im positive I have pied.  But seriously, I bet I've been following the rebooting procedure better than most who have healed if I had to guess.

No random erections either.  I've read on here over the past 4 years that everyone WILL heal it's just a matter of time.  Hope my story isn't killing anyone else's hopes.  I can get a 9 erection if I try to masturbate but have like 0 libido so no urge to even do so really.  Like I said, only watched porn for a year and a half or so.  Pmod once or twice a day and would watch each time for 20 min or so.  Still seems like way less compared to most on here.  Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

Any improvement in the brain fog department?

Brain fog?  Never had a problem with memory since this started if that's what you mean.  When I first started rebooting I would have sex dreams where I would be limp.  About a year and a half or so ago, now Everytime I have a dream I'm never limp.  Always wondered if others experienced that.  Since that happened, still no improvement in morning wood or libido.  Once every six months or so I'll get a week or two week period where a little libido seems to come back.  Always goes away after a week or two.

Wow, this is really sickening reading this. I'm in the same boat as you but probably worse:

35 year old virgin (never had any intimate moment with a girl so there is no neural pathway present in my brain)
Started using porn at around 16-17 but it was mild use.
It escalated at 27 years of age - three years later I got PIED.
Started rebooting January 2017 - PMO relapse once in June and August 2017 (erections consequently got worse!).
Various MO relapses.
But hard mode for 3-4 months on at least two occasions throughout that period.
On this occasion, I've been on hardmode for 4 months and fully intend to see out the 6 months - but I'm actually determined not to orgasm until I get a GF (which almost likely will take longer than 3 months considering I have no social life!!)

Rarely any MW - when I do it's only a 1-2 strength.
Rarely any wet dreams.
Occasional sexual dreams
No libido since 2011.
No spontaneous erections since 2011 - apart from a few months period where it started to come up, but now it's gone.

My recovery plan also consist of:

No fantasying
No Porn substitutes.
Not touching my dick.

Also practicing general life rules:

Eat healthily
Exercise
Meditate/mindfulness/Productivity towards self-growth
No drinking, no smoking.

The only thing lacking in my life is a GF to 'reboot with' and more sleep!

But still, I haven't to date noticed improvement. (I know it's  PIED because I did the test. However, I can't rule out depression being a cause too)

Anyway, it's looking hopeless for me too. :( :( :(

I had several porn dreams where various aspects of porn presented themselves in my dreams. Though this was just something that happened in my early years of recovery. Nowadays, I don't get that sort of dream. Many times, I have dreams of my ex-wife being sexual with me, but nothing porn related. As for the erections and what not, I don't find that I see a real difference. It is likely I get more morning wood without my porn addiction though. This takes time, like anything worth doing. It took me 6 years of time away from porn use before I saw any real difference in sexual reaction and sensitivity. I suggest to get more time away from the addiction to see real results. Don't take it form me, live a life free from porn and find out yourself. I certainly feel that my libito is much better after quitting porn 6 years ago. I also feel that I am more sexually healthy... hard to describe it, but it has a lot more than to do than just simply a stronger erection. It is a vitality feeling... it's in my heart. lol. Best luck and wishes, Josh

Well looking at rebooting from the way I understand it: there are two aspects - one is unhooking from porn (the abstinence of all porn subs). You seem to have abstained long enough to unhook from porn. The second part is rewiring to actual partners. Have you had any gfs / partners in this period? If not, then perhaps that might be a reason ?

Well there was a period where I hung out with girls during my reboot without orgasm and it didn't help.  Also had a lot of sex in my life before pied set in.

I don't think the gender matters are much as having someone supportive, much like what you can find on RebootNation

That's rough man. But since you are not in a relationship, you are not under any pressure to recover quickly.

I'm not sure that random erections or morning woods are a sign of anything.

All I can suggest is just to stick with it - absolutely no PMO, and stay mentally and physically healthy. Since you already know it is PIED, don't test yourself by relapsing with porn. Stay away from anything that would exercise the same neural pathways that porn does.

When you meet the woman you love, you may find your libido picks up and the machinery works just fine.

Hello,

I?ve been at this journey for a while, too. Still not fully healed. I would say to just relax. I?m not saying PIED isn?t a problem, but in my experience, if you think about it too much it could become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Your ED could also be down to anxiety from constant testing, analysis and feelings of dread that a self-diagnosis of PIED tends to bring on. Consider the other issues that might be at play and solve them one step at a time.  Remember, unless you?ve had a porn damage brain scan and 300 sessions with a sex therapist and they say you are hopeless, you have no way of telling if your PIED is uncurable. Hell, even then the experts are wrong all the time about ?hopeless? situations. There are so many miracle success stories out there (porn and non porn related) and a common vein is positive thinking. Just relax, continue to see real women and have fun with them without pressure to perform. Stick to your plan as the only way out is out. Make it your purpose to see this problem through to the end.

Wishing you great success.
