I've been masturbating prone from age 5 to 22(23 now),i used to lie on my stomach and press my dick against bed or anything without erection,i also used to watch porn during that period. now i started masturbating normally from last year.

i have a gf now and the problem is i cant get erection while i am with my girl,i get partial erection during foreplay(kissing) but it only lasts for few mins. So i think i taught my penis to achieve orgasm without having erection

so will rebooting help me overcome this problem ??also, how much time will it take for a guy like me to reboot

i am on 19th day of my reboot, the only change i can experience is having morning wood much often than before

From all the threads ive read, rebooting should fix it. But the time it takes is very individual. Most links (from what I understand) say its a 90  +/- 30 day process. sometimes more, and rarely less. But dont misunderstand, once you start this path, its best to keep on it for the rest of your life. I recently started mine, and im dead-set on never going back to porn. Keep on it man!

Hi there.  It sounds that you trained your brain to a specific form of sexual activity (prone masturbation).  Abstaining from this, as well masturbation/porn viewing in general ought to steer you towards your natural circuitry of sex with a real life mate.  Your more frequent morning wood is a positive indicator that rebooting is working for you.  The situation may get worse before it gets better. Don't let that rattle or deter you.  My advice is to not second guess yourself and go back to your old ways but to instead double down your resolve and find a motivator for taking this process very seriously.  Only with commitment will this process work for you.  If you fail (as most of us do), fail forward, learn from it, get back on the horse, and strengthen your resolve.  If you have any further questions or concerns, no matter how small or "embarrassing" feel free to post here and I (and others) will attempt to answer as best we can, pulling from our personal experience and working knowledge of this type of thing.

On another note, regarding your poll, in my experience (and to my knowledge otherwise) doctors, for the most part, are not well informed about the pitfalls of pornography and masturbation.  They may check your prostate.  Once they find that there is no issue there (because it is most likely an issue of the brain, not the prostate, but they do not know or suspect this) they will give you a pill, or a referral to a therapist, or both.  Neither of which addresses or remotely solves the cause of your problem.  However, if you feel it is best to see a doctor about this then by all means, do that.  If that were your decision my suggestion would to be to continue rebooting alongside that and to certainly stay away from any pills.  They are a temporary solution that exacerbate your problem in the long run, typically.  Just some thoughts to consider.
