Are computer games/video games detrimental to the recovery of PIED?

Gabe Deem talks about how they have a similar mechanism in terms of dopamine and addiction creation. Have rebooters found beneficial to abstain from game playing or it doesn't matter? I have been successfully off porn for 2.5 months, but I do play counter strike for several hours once a week plus I watch CS youtube videos daily. I find it very hard to give it up as I love that game. My libido has improved but I still have ED. I'm 35 and I started to watch internet porn at 17 (from 12 to 17, I used my mind and magazines)

It would be beneficial, but for different reasons. Video games will numb your reward circuit to a degree but they're not going to affect sexual functioning because they're not a sexual stimulus (unless you were playing certain types of games). Porn is sexual in nature and stimulating to a much larger degree. If your PIED hasn't resolved then you haven't given it enough time or done enough rewiring.

But yeah, you can definitely see some benefit from cutting down on time spent gaming.

I second that. The dosage makes the poison.

If you only play CS on one day for a few hours, I honestly don't see a problem there.

Also, to ask the most important question, what is/was your highest rank ;D

lol, MG1, which is my current rank

I'm not quitting videogames. I have much self control on them. It's not a problem to me. Besides, as said, they're not sexual stimuli.

I quit videogames. It has helped quitting porn.
It gave me a lot of free time that I had to fill with healthier habits.

You don't have to quit but I'd say there are things more important. Sleeping, exercising. Are you exercising enough? If no, it's not that you should play less videogames, but that you should book time to exercise more.

I'd recommend couting how much you played and think about it. I was horrified when Steam showed me that I had played 2000 hours of Counter Strike, because... imagine what I could have done instead with those 2000 hours.
