Relapse after 4 months

Hey guys so I?m a freshman in college and made the choice to quit porn after being unsuccessful at staying hard from BJ?s the previous summer and suspected I might have PIED. I was successful in my quit attempt for my first 4 months of college and experienced flatline for about 3 of those mo the and then started to be able to get rock hard erections on my own with no stimulation and it was amazing. During the 4 months I didn?t masturbate once but started again after the flatline began to end. When I went home for break I somehow slipped into my old habits and I couldn?t stop watching porn again, I probably watched it for a week and a half before I returned to school and was able to stop again with the belief that I will never watch porn again. I realized after my relapse how easy it is to slip back into my habit if I?m not mindful and it?s just not worth it. I?ve now not watched porn for a week and a half and have re-entered a flatline period, I was wondering if anyone has experience with a similar length relapse and how long it set them back, will it take me only a couple of weeks or am I back to ground zero?

I've relapsed several times after long periods of abstinence. You are not at ground zero unless you have not learned a single thing during your reboot or if you've not grown as a person at all. Quitting porn is about more than not watching porn, it's about taking your life back. You create a void when you quite and you have to choose how to fill that void. The more productive and positive habits and actions you develop the less relapse will affect you.

When I relapse I do feel bad for awhile but I don't beat myself up about it; that seems incredibly counter-productive to me. I just keep moving forward with my life and continue to focus as much as I can on developing the other aspects of my life. My relapses have slowly gotten less intense over time and spaced out (as is I don't binge as much when I relapse and I don't fall into a daily habit anymore; There are still days where I don't PMO even when I'm in a period of relapse).

It's going to take you however long it takes to get yourself back on track. You are the one who decides whether you're back to ground zero or not. There are very few people who have quite cold-turkey without ever relapsing. This is a long and grueling process and you have to be in it for the long-haul.

This happened to me after 8 months, also after reintroducing MO. MO is bad idea if you are recovering from PIED. Its not bad just for the reboot its bad because it leads back to PMO, relapse.

Next time you will have to avoid MO or find a girlfriend when you feel libido coming back.

Can masturbation when libido returns, usually lead to a flatline?
