There's something that you've already mentioned in the older video, the idea that when you watch porn you are in a "voyeur" mindset.
And on the two forums, sometimes guys talk about a related subject, "is it ok to check women out in real life ?". I like to answer " you shouldn't do it intentionnally, because it reinforces a behavior that you acquired when viewing porn".

What are your thoughts about that ? Could a behavior other than watching porn reinforce the porn addiction too ?

K has a great question there. I have never really even touched a girl and i'm 17 so like... i mean my reboot seems as if it will take ages because the list at the end of the video i ticked everyone although i can still MO without looking at porn.
I thought it could actually help because it's changing thoughts from the internet to girls in real life making you want to chase them more or something i'm not sure.

Being PMO and MO free will make you go street pick up, no worries guys, the motivation will come naturally :)

This is very common question, and it goes along with questions about fantasy. here's our faq on fantasy - http://www.yourbrainonporn.com/what-about-fantasizing-during-reboot

While many guys suggest not checking out people during a reboot, this behavior is as old as eyesight. Internet porn differs is two key ways as described in the video:

1) You are masturbating and orgasming, thereby reinforcing voyeurism as your main way to achieve sexual arousal.

2) Videos replace imagination and place you in position of voyeur. You are watching others have sex, with all the action, sounds, and God knows what this entails. Still images, such as a centerfold of a single naked female, leave you in the position of protagonist. You are imagining what you would do. That's one reason why magazines rarely caused problems.

That doesn't mean you can't develop PIED with still images. We have seen this occur.

Great video!

Clarifying question: Referring to the dotted line/straight line real/pixels diagram in the video, do links in your brain to the 'real' automatically strengthen and replace those ties to pixels when rebooting (i.e. cutting out the pixels habit)? i.e. Does the 'real', being our innate biological disposition, naturally again become the straight bold line and pixels become the weaker, dotted connection?

Or, do they both have weak, dotted links, and thus this is where actively rewiring is crucial?

(For example I am 100+ days into a reboot and no longer have an urge to M, and a vastly reduced urge to search, even search facebook (of course the odd times I come across a hot pic I find it arousing - who doesn't?! - but I don't do anything - i.e. M - about it), so I feel that pixel link is dying. But on the other hand I have no urge to pursue women [radar tuned to spotting attractive girls, but sluggish to do anything from there] the same way I would in the past have had an urge to click, click PMO.)

Is this normal - the attraction to 'real' is more subdued -, do I need to rewire to jumpstart/activate that link/urge, or I need more time rebooting?

As I said near the end, it depends, which is always the answer for PIED. Young guys sometimes need to rewire arousal to real people. This is based on reports from guys who healed.

"Normal" is the desire to pursue real females. Attraction is not like a porn addiction, but it should be strong in a man under 40. The reason I used that slide twice is to get across that you may need to do both no porn and rewiring.

Gary, what is your opinion on smoking weed during a reboot?  Will it interfere with the healing process?

It makes sense. I think that the websites providing still images have changed at the same time when streaming websites appeared. I can remember the old ones, they didn't allow really quick overview and instant access to dozens and dozens of pictures, the behavior was more linear (one picture after another, not 50 tabs each containing one pciture).
Thanks for your insights.

Great video! Thanks Gary!

I'm half-way through so I'll give some opinions/doubts as soon as I finish watching the video.

Thanks again!

My opinion on this is that you should not fantasise about real people or check out girls on the street ect until you come out the other side of the flatline period. When you do, then i would re-introduce looking at girls but even then i would do it in a different manner than before. Don't just look at them like you did during your porn days look at them for their beauty as this will help you rewire. Porn has wired you too only see girls like an object. Rewire and train your brain too see them for real people and potential mates.

Good luck and i hope that advice makes sense/helps!
