Morning erections

I've been stopping the porn for a good 4 weeks... masturbated twice but like using things ive seen in real life. I'm going to start hardcore PMO though. Anyways i've been getting morning erections but they are definitely not 100% more like 50%. Does that mean my ED could be non porn induced. As in real ED. I mean i know porn induced is real ED but i mean ED that needs surgery/pills or something.

No- when I stopped porn it wasn't till after two months till I started seeing major improvement (I relapsed on porn for three days in the middle so this process may be faster for others) - but regardless you should keep a journal or use a sleeping app and enter it  in the journal of the alarm clock the percentage of your MW.

My MW was terrible, occuring perhaps once every two weeks - gradually I started getting MW more often and now it is 4 days a week - however the improvement in the MW has gone from 15% - 20% then after a few weeks I was at 60-70% and now it is consistently 80-85%, and this morning it was prob 75%.

Keep measuring - but it is a sign that it is indeed porn induced but your reboot could be more timely - perhaps a 100day reboot vrs the shorter ones guys talk about on here.

Oh ok thanks. It's just i heard they check for ED by making you sleep overnight and they test your erection. How come not many like doctors/urologists seem to know about it? I mean theres nothing about it on the NHS website. My friend intially told me about it and he is also PMOing.

Also just wondering. If i get morning erections now after 4 weeks no porn... does that suggest i may not be too badly effected as those who have to PMO for way over 90 days? I mean i can masturbate with little fantasy of which is not porn related.

Getting the morning erections back after 4 weeks is a good sign...but honestly, it really doesn't tell too much about recovery. I've read some recovery stories where the people have completely healed and don't have morning erections, and seen some reports where morning erections are back in full gear but people still can't get it up with a partner. Overall, morning erections aren't anything but a good sign...but aren't too revealing about where someone is at in a reboot.

stevew, please read all of this
i am new to this forum, have never posted on any website in the past about e.d, only found out about p.i.e.d recently and my struggle with e.d has been a long, sad, miserable journey that i will not go into full detail about.  i saw your post and wanted to write this to you because of what you said about the possibility of needing surgery/pills.  my e.d has been so bad that 1 1/2 years ago i underwent a surgery known as penile revascularization. i was convinced by doctors that my e.d was a result of insufficient blood flow (dr. Irwin Goldstein).  in the surgery there are 2 incisions, one in your abdomen and another through your testicles, the surgery cost 25,000.00 but i was desperate and was being told by healthcare professionals that this what i needed, so i came up with the money. the surgery re-routes the blood flow to your penis from 1 artery to a different artery and is supposed to increase the bloodflow.  everything went great with the surgery, no problems, but i slowly realized in the following weeks that i was still not achieving the erections i was told i would be receiving, then a few months past and i still am having a hard time but more importantly i noticed that i am not as sensitive as what i was before the surgery, the base of my penis feels numb and the area around my testicles as well.  this is because the surgery has now caused nerve damage to the skin around the incision.  since the surgery when i do get semi-erections or even hard from looking at porn, one things is more apparent now, the second that i stop touching my penis and stimulating it, it goes limp instantly.  i used to get erections while looking at porn but not with partners, i would get no morning wood, no erections in showers and no strong spontanious erections. i told many doctors, urologists, endocrinologist, therapists about this issue and the general consensus was that porn and masturbation are normal, i was never told by any of these "professionals" that it is what is causing my problem.  this surgery was one of the biggest mistakes i have ever made in my entire life.  i am convince now after reading all of the testimonies from so many people who have struggles with the same symptoms as i have that my problem was do to my addiction with porn and masturbation, i only wish i would learned about nofap sooner.  i pray everyday that this surgery did not ruin my life and i will still be able to recover.  my story is much longer then this but i will not go into detail about all of it,  i just wanted to share my experience with you about the surgery because you had mentioned it with your original post.  i urge you, stick with the reboot process, do not do a surgery, you mentioned the pills but they are only a temporary fix and over time you build a tolerence to them, they are not addressing the underlying issue, i now have to stick a needle in my dick and inject a vasodiolator med known as trimix to have sex, all because i did not address the issue in the first place, i thought covering it up with a little blue pill or having a surgery will solve my issues,  it didnt and now i am worse off then ever.  please stick with the reboot process, even if it takes 6 months or a year to make it happen then stick with it.  i am 33 now and wish that i could travel back and convince the younger me to take it serious and to completely refrain from all porn and masturbation at all cost even if it takes a year or more to rewire and reboot.  i hope you the best in your journey

Rainmann,
Don't worry i wouldn't be too eager to rush into surgery i'm already having that for my natural penis curvature which is 40 degrees down and it bulges out on the right. I have found a very good surgeon who has done over 200 operations for this with no risk of ED etc. I only mentioned that to try and just explain what i meant by real ED (PIED is only in the brain so...).
Reason why i'm pretty sure it's PIED is because i used to get semi's when checking out girls at my school. Then during 1 week i PMO'd alot and on this one day i did it twice for a good 1-2 hours each session. Then after that i woke up with no morning erection.... which never happened to me before... I also use 'death grip' which i think is mainly down to very tight foreskin which means my skin doesn't go up and down.... i even have very slight dimples on my penis from where my thumb bone was being pressed when masturbating.
What worries me is... i have frequent peeing although i spoke to a doctor (had a blood test... blood is fine) who said it's most likely due to my severe phimosis and like shampoo etc getting trapped in my foreskin making my uethera thinner or something? Thats my only worry... after my penis curve surgery my penis should also be stronger apparently too.
But that peeing issue has occured for a good year now... i guess when i started trying to do foreskin stretches to cure my phimosis i'm guessing... need circumcision whcih i would need anywas for penis curve surgery.
Thanks alot for your time means alot! Best of luck with your recovery... also my morning erections are back although they were alot stronger earlier in the year... my head would almost hurt because of the tight foreskin... so i still have a way to go.
EDIT: The porn i have been watching has been very extreme and i feel very guilty after watching it... not going to go into details but yeah.

Again, everybody's different.  For me, I've never lost morning wood, but OTOH all it means for me is that my usual failsafe against wetting the bed is still fully operational!

Hey Steve,

I am pretty far along in my reboot/rewire - morning wood for me has been back for the majority of this process - good and strong at times, really strong.  But I still am nowhere near consistent in responding to my wife - We went the first 8 months - keeping in mind that P & M have no place in my life - and we are now abstaining from me O'ing.

I guess the one thing about morning wood - I know things down there can work, which is great.  Getting things to work when I want them to, well, thats another ballgame.

I would recommend that you try to remove all P and all M from your life - M'ing to any fantasy (live or pixelated) would have a negative impact.

Stay strong, you can get through this.
