Chat with urologist.

I was at urologist. Told him by the way that Im doing this reboot. I told him my whole story,how I ignored real life women and now can only get hard masturbating watching porn and how Ive been 32 days off porn and masturbating. He told me he thinks this is definitely great progress for my mental health and promotes people ending porn addiction and enjoying real life women. Though when I told him I stopped masturbating full stop he got worried.

He told me"I do recommend you to stop porn,but masturbation in moderation,which is 2 times a week is very healthy for both your prostate and testicles. But since you were heavy porn masturbator by your own words,you still need to give your boy some rest. So Id highly recommend you during your reboot to masturbate every 25th day from now on. Use plenty of lube and be very gentle about it. Your body needs to keep making fresh semen. Also use ordinary fantasies about everyday girls while doing it. You will make whole sexual channel in your body ready for it."

So I listened to him. Since I was over 25 days into reboot today I lubricated myself and super slowly masturbated thinking about how I used to kiss my ex gf neck. I dumped the biggest load of my life. It almost felt as good as my first orgasm achieved by sex. I was also rock hard while doing it,so I surely made some progress. So Im settled until another session for 25 days. Gonna keep up and stay far away from porn for sure.

Interesting.  It's good to know that his recommendation worked for you.  Every 25 days sounds like a good cycle.  I still think, however, that addicts will need to go longer at first, whether it's 60, 90, 120, or more.  Then some sort of cycle is necessary to keep the parts working.  I haven't heard of anyone who recovered by abstaining forever.  But that initial period of long term abstinence is still required for the brain to make a reset, then it will be ready for a cycle.  Once a month is probably the best cycle to maintain a  healthy, functioning sexuality.

Yeah,it sort of sums up to once a month cycle.

But he also told me this when we finished exam..
"You know I was 21 like you,back in 1977. I also masturbated like 4-5 times a week. Difference though was I only had fantasies of real life everyday sex with everyday women. You know,you couldve barely gotten any porn in our country and erotic magazines were a bit expensive. At the time we would all mostly use girls from our college as fap material,fantasizing about their boobs,asses and legs. If we fantasized about sex it would be a nice blowjob or classic vaginal and cumming inside of the girl. That was top for us,most of us knew for anal,but it didnt sound appetizing for most of us guys. But these days you boys need some really crazy stuff to get off. No wonder we are getting generation of sexually defected. "

This urologist is completely wrong- there is zero evidence for a physical need to release semen through masturbation and wet dreams are going to occur anyway probably at more than 25 day intervals. It would have been very common throughout history for people in various societies to not masturbate due to religious/spiritual/societal constraints. Obviously a lot of them were "cheating" but a lot of them were probably sticking to the "rules" and any significant issues would have become known by now.

@blah432 How can you say that the Urologist is completely wrong!? I mean do you have any credentials or are you in the medical field to say anything? I am pretty sure your Urologist knows COMPLETELY More than you about this subject. Btw there is tons of information about how masturbation decreases stress and how it's good for your mental state. There may not be a "physical" need like you say, but definitely a mental need.

@Ocarinustino
Dude that's great! I actually was really tempted last night to watch porn but just resorted to masturbating after seeing some hot woman at the gym that very same night lol.. Hey and the only advise I can give you is pay attention to your Urologist and do it on the 25th day like you said, just be careful with that chaser effect!

There are no evidence that moderate masturbation alone causes any physical issues. Masturbation to porn is different story. I mean so many other species have been known to masturbate. Lizards masturbate,monkeys masturbate,turtles masturbate,elephants masturbate,dolphins masturbate etc.

They can still have sex with female no problem because their dopamine levels dont get deformed by fantasies which drift of from real deal stuff.

I wasn't saying M causes issues, I'm saying not M'ing doesn't cause issues. There is no physical reason a person would be healthier M'ing. You don't need credentials to know this- ask him how or why its "very healthy", ask what structures require masturbation in order to function etc... I wasn't talking about the mental effects either- it bothers me when doctors say things like "its very healthy" well it isn't very healthy to 99% of people who have a porn addiction. If we want to debate the mental effect thats a different effect but its certainly not physically required and has no physical effect either way.

I did some research on it, and this is correct.  The body will deal with the problems of not ejaculating on its own either through wet dreams or even just discharging in urine.  That is why your "blue balls" don't ultimately rupture and kill you, but just go away on their own.  It was a popular pseudo-medical idea that frequent masturbation would help stave off prostate cancer, but this has no backing.  A lot of doctors went with it as a "well, it can't hurt" like taking a daily vitamin.  If this doctor thinks it is a problem... well, then he's going against 99% of his peers by saying that.

I did the research because a major obstacle to me was the awful blue balls pain.  I checked and checked and checked and wanted to be absolutely sure I wasn't damaging myself because a few times (about a year ago) it was excruciatingly painful.  Long story short, the only reason it hurt so much is because I had trained my body to try to keep up with the demands of frequent masturbation.  It had more in common with a drug withdrawal than it did actual physical deprivation.  Right now I'm porn free and have zero problems from lack of masturbation.  Zero.

I think trying to sneak masturbation in there is a perfect way to get a chaser effect and relapse, but everyone is a bit different.  Masturbation on its own may not be as damaging, but for someone already addicted to porn, I don't think you can really discuss it on its own.  The sensations and fantasies of a porn addict are still there even if the screen isn't flickering away in front of him.
