Joining the battle

Hello. I am new on this site and I am so glad I found it. Lots of resources here.

I read an article on the fight the new drug's website and that was enough for me to take action. I do not watch it often, but when I do, I stay for hours. I always feel guilty afterwards. Porn is not entertainment, if so then why does it affect us so negatively? Even science recognizes the damaging effects on all people, men and women of all ages.

I've read a few stories and I feel the pain of those who are suffering physically, emotionally, mentally. For those whose relationship suffered or ended, my heart goes out to you all.

We are in this together. We can all win this battle and quit porn for good. If others have done, so can I. And so can you all. Whatever it takes. I believe everyone has that will power.  Science has shown that the brain is plastic and the body heals itself.

Good decision to make this life improvement, and i like the battle metaphor!  Looks like you already have the neuroscience side of things down-that is helpful.  Best wishes friend!

After one week, I can see the benefits. More confidence, urge at the lowest, better sleep, calmer. This battle to me is physical, mental and spiritual all at the same time. Amazing. Will keep on going, it is worth it.

Being clean is its own reward and it can also provide momentum for moving forward.  Glad to see you are already reaping some benefits.  I know what you mean by the calmer and confident aspects.  Keep going!

The goal is 90 days without PMO. I'm on day 86. I feel so good. I want to do so many things. Ideas come to mind like crazy. Being with woman is much better the artificial stimuli.

This is a great forum. Thank you all.

Now this is what I've done (This might help somebody)

- Eliminate every people, places, situations that might arouse you
- Encourage as many people as possible on this forum. Remember we are not alone
- Pray/meditate every single day, as often as possbile. This thing is bigger than yourself, so you need power beyond yourself to resist
- Keep busy every day
- Reward yourself every day, every week and every month

Hang in there everyone ;)

Another thing I want to add to the list of what I've done is Exercise and Change of a diet.

- Junk food will not help gain victory over this at all. Do your best to eat as healthy as possible.
- Exercise is a must. 2-3 times a week is great. Laying on your couch is a sure way to get tempted. Get moving. It's good for your body and mind.

One more thing to add to the list of what I've done : Get a yearly calendar. The one where you see all 12 months on one page. You have to see your progress. Put it in a place where you can see it every day. This is a powerful tool. Trust me it works
