25+ years of PMO - What is my outlook on PIED?

I need the hard and realistic truth from you guys.

I first encountered porn when I was 11 years old. This was before the internet was a thing. Through the years, my exposure picked up the pace. At 19 I had access to high speed internet, and my addiction stuck ever since. I tried rebooting many times, my record is 7 months free from porn in such regards, but I always fell into the same trap, due to stress, problems, etc.

I have decided to get rid of porn for good now, and will stop at nothing to get it done. I managed 7 months before, and now my personal circumstances are much better. I will prevail.

But I wonder. What is my outlook to regain sexual function? The last 5 years I've for the most part viewed porn and mastrubated with a semi at best. I do not believe there is any physical of vascular damage, but the damage to my mind ...

I also have a woman I am interested in. I have informed her of my problem. I'm planning to get some erection pills as a crutch and go for it as soon as possible. But when will that be?

Do I have any hope of regaining my sexual function? What time frame are we talking about?

There is hope. I've been porn free for 19 months. It's been a slow and tough slog. At times, it has seemed like there was no progress and no hope. I'm still not at 100% but it has gotten much better.

Early on, out of desperation, I took ED meds. They worked and helped overcome the performance anxiety and related PE ... but it has been hard weaning myself completely.

You are on the right track man. Stick with it and be patient.

It's good that you informed your woman.

you heard gabe deem, it took him 9 months to have FIRST successful sex and 9 more months to get back to normal again. thats 18 months.

he was all good, good kid from good family, seeing porn as something cool like cigarettes. nothing special of a story, so guess your timeline. i would say 2 years is a max for recovery. if you need more, you are either not rewiring at all or you have a physical problem.

I've been off porn for almost three months and sporadic masturbation using my imagination (my flatline has ups and downs). I've been watching 20 years of porn, so the brain rewiering is not easy. The good news is that I haven't seen a porn video since June.
