PIED or anxiety ED?

Hello,

Usually, I was watching porn 1 or 2 times a day and masturbate. From my 18 to 24 years I never had ED problems with my gf (just PE problems, a few times). Then we broke up. I passed 6 months without sex.

When I got a new girlfriend I used to had erections by only kissing her. But when I tried had sex with her, I couldn't get an erection. It caused anxiety for me. Then I tried once again, after two weeks and I couldn't penetrate her, but when we were making out, I had an erection. I loose it when I was putting the condom. Then, I try another time and It was the worst... I couldn't get an erection.

I purchase viagra and I could penetrate her. I reached the orgasm but it was necessary too much time. Then I discover this forum when quit PMO, because I couldn't masturbate without fantasy or porn. After 3 weeks:

- I can get an erection by thinking in sex;
- I can masturbate to orgasm without porn or fantasy;

Am I cured or never suffered from PIED. Instead of PIED, was ED induced by anxiety?

Well, this is difficult, of course.

On the one had PIED is strongly linked to arousal levels and dopamine rush, triggered by the novelty and quantity of porn, back relating to the "real" stuff as boring or less exciting. AIED (anxiety induced) however is more triggered by the stage fright one has, because of previous "failures" or bad experiences with sex. The anxiety level usually is highest in cases of sex with a new partner or, and especially, with a partner in a long lasting relation ship after some mishappenings.

Basically, they have different roots. They however can  influence each other very strongly. E.g., a one time flat during sex, which is pretty common because also guys don't want to fuck every time of the day, can be a result of PIED. This bad experience then already manifested itself in the guy's head as a failure in this regard. The next time he will have sex, or try, there might already be the tought about the failure of the last even before the sex started. Therefore an AIED is triggered, although this time the PIED would not be. Do not misunderstand me. I mean that PIED is NOT the root cause of EVERY ED situation. And this is often because there is anxiety involved. Actually, the anxiety may worsen the situation even more.

By Rebooting you might solve the PIED problem, but yet have to convince yourself about again being able to have sex. At this point the anxiety steps in every time and puts you through previous "what if" situations.

So I would go as far as saying that PIED and AIED are a coujuncted problem, they nonetheless have different solutions.

If you are able to have sex and get strong erections - even with occasional flats, which are NOT unusual! - then I would not say you are affected by the two forms of brain-related-ED.

On the other hand I also would not tell you that you are healed. The thing is: you have to decide that because you are the only one who knows how it was before your ED streak and what you aim is for the reboot all in all.
If you are happy with thing as they are now, do not need any meds for having sex and do feel attracted more to the real thing than to porn I would say that you anre on a good way. Regarding the addiction however, you are the only one to know whether you are addicted still, or not.

best regards,

Vincent

Vincent,

thanks for your wise words.

The thing is: I have sex but with cialis or viagra. I have to quit to test if I can erect naturally with a woman. I don't want to see porn, I think since I quit (1 month ago) I never have urges to watch porn (only to masturbate ocasionally). So... I am not an adicted?

With the description of the porn history you gave, I think that amount of time of PMO is more than enough to cause erections problems. There is a chance that it is performance anxiety, too, but if I was a betting man I'd put my money on the problem stemming from pornography use. PIED definitely can cause performance anxiety-like worry about sex because the brain has been conditioned and wired to respond a screen, not a person. Because of this condition and wiring, people find encounters with partners under stimulating and hard to get in to...thus they are disconnected enough to worry and feel their disconnection.

I would definitely reboot! It really can only help you. I mean...no one needs pornography for sexuality, right? What do you have to lose?  8)

Today, a strange thing happened to me: for the second day (consecutive) I woke up without morning wood. I stayed very nervous and anxious. So, I tried to masturbate only to sensation and I couldn't get an erection. FLATLINE, i thought! Then I thought in sex with my gf and I could get an erection.

One hour later, I tried to masturbate to only sensation and I could get an erection.

What is happening?

I took Cialis when I got a full erection with my girlfriend.

The sex was good, so I came too quickly. I think that all the time was anxiety ED and not PIED. However, I will continue without watching porn.

The thing is that I want to eliminate the premature ejaculation and if I not masturbate during too much time, it is difficult to not come quickly with a girl.

Suggestions?

anxiety ed is the root and porn is just feeding the fire. if you want to squash this, you have to completely stop masturbation to porn and in time, the anxiety will fade away

hi there,

well, persian is right. Stop PMO. I also have sex with my GF if I can and it most often is anxiety related, should it not work. Porn however really is bad for anxiety ED "patients" because is takes away even the last drop of confidence left. You only feel more miserable after wanking to Porn and not beeing able to have sex then.

And I would skip put on the potency pills, if you want to really see, how far the ED is porn/anxiety related.
Anyway: Viagra and Cialis do NOT make a boner, they hold it. You still have to get stimulated. If you initially get a boner and then it softens there are two reasons: brain related or body related. You physician surely is happy to help you with the latter. If you don't have any physical need for cialis or viagra it simply is a costly placebo. Which can work.....

But if it is PIED or AIED the pill is not really a permanent solution.

I dont masturbate to porn since I discover the PIED on the web (aprox. 5 weeks ago).

I don t need porn.

My concern now is reduce PE, and then drop the pills.

you can enhance your "performance" by just training with MO and trying to delay O. Of course a sensitisation by not wanking the shit out of you john for 5 weeks increases also probability of PE. However most of our sexual stimuli are brain-driven. So you practically can stop yourself from oversensitive orgasm with the right mindset. but it takes training. And especially for someone that is constantly thinking about not climaxing to early this can be an anxiety thing. take care.

I am pretty sure that you will find out a way if you try. The more we have orgasm driven sex, the more PE becomes probable...I think.

Today is day 53.

- I can get an erection by thinking in sex;
- I can masturbate to orgasm without porn or fantasy;
- I have morning woods almost everyday;
- I can get an erection with a girl (but I was under effect of cialis)
- I never hit a flatline

Am I ok?

68 days without PMO, 28 days from the last O

still have morning wood, can have an erection by thinking in sex scenarios, can have an erection by touching

NEVER HIT A FLATLINE and NEVER IN MY LIFE SUFFER FROM DE! (but had more than a few times PE!)

It was anxiety ED?

Yeah. At the very least, it sounds like anxiety was a huge component of the ED you had. I would stay away from the porn for life though. (1) It can only improve your sex life, and (2) you now know from being a part of this community that it has the potential to take your erections away.

Also... I didn't experience a chaser effect or cravings after having the orgasm...

Of course I never will see porn in my life but I'm thinking that my problem is mainly anxiety
