The first few days of vacation have been great. Monday we had a day date to a local casino for some lunch. On the way out we saw a band playing the we stopped to watch, and they were pretty fun.

Yesterday we got everything I wanted to get done on our son's tree fort. And we read after he went to bed. And we've made love the past couple of nights, so things are pretty good to say the least.

Good job man!  And thanks for the book recommendation.
Im also impressed that you got done what you wanted to get done with the tree fort.  You are either as faster worker than me,  or I set my expectations of a days work too high as I seldom get done what I try to do in a days work.  Have a good weekend!

Ha. Thanks man. Don't worry. We made up for our achievement yesterday by not getting much done at all, and the same today.

Not too much going on. Still working on the tree fort for our son, but I'm back at work now so my time for it is slim. At work I'm back in training to qualify on a different plant, so another two months of cramming and taking tests coming my way! FML.

You take so many tests in your job. It's almost like your employer wants you to be a career student. I can't decided weather that is awesome or terrible, LOL. Good luck with it!

I know, right?! I'm sick of this crap. After this school is done though, there aren't any schools they can send me to for a while. Thank God

Not too much going on round here. I've been having these terrible esophageal spasms lately where I wake up in the middle of the night and it feels like I'm having a heart attack. Just horrendous chest pain that takes hours to die down. Happened a few nights ago, and again last night at 2:30am. After trying to get back to sleep, once 4:45 came around I just saw screw it I'll go to work. So I went in to study. Pain finally started to go away just before 6. That's the longest spasm episode I've had yet. So I only got 2.4hrs of sleep last night. I'm ready to pass out.

Reboot stuff is going fine. I've been good with ogling at every opportunity but one so far this spring. Trying to keep myself centered on that, it's way too easy to lose your mind when it comes to that stuff.

Rebootrapp,

I know exactly what you are going through with the esophageal spasms...I went through a period of life when I got them not infrequently, and the pain was pretty bad.

I did some research and found a few suggestions that I tried. I found that sipping a lukewarm glass of water very slowly, sip-pause-sip-pause. That seemed to help relax my esophagus, but drinking it too quickly gave me additional discomfort as the water was unable to drop into my stomach due to the spasm.

My spasms turned out to be a reaction to reflux, and I have cured that with a daily dose of probiotics to aid digestion.

Don't know if this will help you or not, but it helped me...good luck!

Hey balanced, good to hear from you. Thanks for the tips. Thankfully i haven't had another one since last update. I've started taking my Prilosec right after dinner and just having water from that point until bed. Seems to be working for me so far.

Reboot things are still going well, thankfully including ogling. Keeping vigilant. We watched a movie the other night where a woman in the back of a limo flashed her boobs to the driver, at least I think she did, I managed to look away in time since it was obvious what was coming next.

Yesterday was a frustrating day for my wife due to a doctor treating her like an imbecile, so we talked about that a good deal yesterday. Though the circumstance not ideal, it was nice to talk to her for a while. I'm hoping we can do more of that.

Glad to hear the spasms have not returned recently. I did Prilosec for a while, but wanted  to get off the drugs. Also, generally people have a problem with not enough acid, rather than too much,  but doctors prescribe Prilosec like candy and they end up further lowering the acid. That's why I ended up with a probiotic each morning and it has done the trick.

Glad to hear the ogling battle is going well...that bad behavior, like all the rest, will eventually fade away if you are firm and consistent by turning away after the one-second "noticing" look.

I wish you continued success!

I don't think lack of acid is my problem, I drink too much soda for that! That's the next addition I've got to kick. Lol.

We just went out on a lunch date, which was awesome. Well, it was fun, but her good wasn't good. We had a great appetizer though, so I didn't get too upset. Nor did she.

Not too much really going on at the moment.

We decidedly we're getting an above ground poil, just a little one. So we've been researching and planning that for the last few days. It's pretty much been all we've done. We had dinner with some friends last night, but other than that its been all pool and the landscaping we're gonna do around it.

Still just working on pool stuff. We didn't think we'd need to meet all the code requirements for a little above ground pool with water 2 feet deep. But we do. So we upgraded the pool to something with water almost 4 feet deep. If I'm gonna have to build a fence and all that crap, it's gonna be for something bigger.

Anyway, everything else is fine. We've been spending a lot of time working together on this project which was been really nice. We've only zoned out to tv once in the last week or so, which makes me really happy.

I've got a test at work in a couple hours, so I've been coming back to work to study the last couple nights. That might be part of the reason why we haven't watched as much tv... I've just not been there. But I've been leaving work a little before lunch to go home and work on pool stuff during the daylight, and I come back to study after dinner. The other day when I got home, we may have had a little detour to the bedroom before I started on the yard...

And my brother graduates high school today, so the next few days will be crazy with family stuff going on.

Thanks Aquarius. Three more to go!

The weekend was fun, got to spend a lot of time with my brothers and sister, then Father's Day was a good relaxing day.

Things between my wife and I are good. We're still spending most of our time on pool crap. Hopefully we submit our permit application today or tomorrow and can start building this weekend. That would be super nice.

Our son is out of school for the summer, so we'll see how that impacts us as it will definitely change my wife's daily routine!

Had a good weekend. Actually made some good progress on the tree fort for little man. Took the fam to a baseball game on Friday, had a bunch of fun there.

The only bummer was that I had to come to work and study both mornings, but once I left this place it was a blast. And my wife made some unbelievable tacos last night!

This week has friggin sucked. I've been coming in every night to study, so I haven't had any good quality time with my wife, and I haven't been getting any sleep. But, the test is tomorrow. and I've got a 4 day weekend. So we should have some fun hen anyway.

Other than that, things are going alright. Had some ogling victories, a couple minor slips but nothing bad enough to get upset about.

The 4 day was great. Didn't get as much quality time with the fam as I thought we might due to being busy every day with my in-laws, but we still had fun. My mother in law even paid for a date night for us, so we saw a movie and had some awesome steak.

Reality smacked me hard yesterday coming back to work, but hey, them's the brakes right?

Over the weekend, I forget which day, but I did massage my wife's legs for a good long while and we talked the whole time, and that kind of reconnected us. I feel better about our connwction since then.

So yeah, all is well.

Man what a great weekend. I finally got some good quality time with the family yesterday after having spent every day off so far this summer working on projects it feels like. I'm not done with the projects yet, but I had to take a day off from them. Tomorrow is out 7th wedding anniversary, so I'm excited for that. I can't wait to give her her gifts.

And I went for a bike ride yesterday too, which was great. I always feel good after a ride.

Hope you're all well.

I haven't read your whole journal. But I've just read the last page. You've done a year and a half porn-free and you've saved your marriage. That's amazing. Well done - inspirational stuff.

Thanks PE30. I'm a very lucky man, everything just sort of lined up for me the successfully, so far at least, reboot this ole brain.

This weekend we got a lot done on the pool, and I took my son out for a bike ride this morning. Oh, yeah, I've been getting my road bike out lately too. I've loved watched the Tour de France since I was a kid, and it always gets me in the mood. The last 5 years at least, I wouldn't actually get the bike out, but this year I have. It's also amazing how much data a hobby cyclist can accumulate about your rides with a Fitbit and a smartphone. I feel like the pros ten years ago barely had as much data as I can get now, and I'm not even that serious about it. Insanity.

Anyway, yeah I spent a lot of quality time with the little man today. I'm reading a book strictly about being a father. Not about "parenting," but about being dad, because moms and dads are very different and kids expect different things from them. So that's been exciting to read and try and put some of the stuff into place, or at least make sure I was doing it before. I'm only about 25% done with it, but it's going fast so far. Like I said we did the bike ride, he worked with me in the yard, he read me part of a story book. He's just starting to read and gets really frustrated very quickly, but he's doing pretty well I think for a kid just out of kindergarten.

What else? My wife and I have been very happy lately, we haven't been watching near as much TV, we haven't really been reading either though. I've been working on projects until it's time for showers and bed essentially, but that's better than vegging out. Feels better anyway. I feel like we're pretty well connected, and that's what counts.

Hope you're all well.

The last week has been great. I've gotten a ton done on the pool, my son straight up rode his bike yesterday without me helping at all. I've lost some weight, I'm still riding. My wife and I read the other night, and it was a good chapter. I feel like our communication is getting back to where it was before. She's doing super great with her pain, being very active.

It's been a busy week, I need to update more regularly. Hope you're all well.

Been an ok couple of days.  Nothing to report reboot wise, but my wife and I have had a fantastic couple of nights together. I'm taking next week off, looking forward to getting this pool done finally and spending some time actually in it!
