Nothing graphic in it.

Uh, reading about porn addiction so frequently might have changed what you perceive as 'graphic', because nearly the whole video had sexual imagery.

Good video though.

I didnt think my porn use went to the extreme but after 58 days i noticed my sexual thought goes toward my exes than porn stars or occasionally female lead characters and singers like before.

I was never into the extreme stuff, but it certainly got very very specific. And weird.

I'm actually surprised they only cited 50% of men reporting altered tastes.  From what I read on these boards, it seems like it is closer to 100%... though, the video seems to imply rather specific "kinks", when in actuality everyone ends up finding their own flavor.

I've actually read numerous accounts of rebooters who say they never escalated. LTE mostly watched lesbian porn, according to Gabe there was one guy who only looked at pictures of swimsuit models and such, and got PIED doing that. Novelty and endless content are what cause internet porn to be addictive, escalating tastes is probably tertiary.

My tastes escalated in more and more hardcore stuff. My first videos were simply random girls dancing in lingerie.

Now when I relapse, at least it's on less hardcore stuff than what I used to watch before deciding I went too far. Interesting video. :)

I think it depends on how we define "escalation".  I don't think it needs to be strange, offensive, kinky, or anything like that.  It just needs to be a preoccupation.  Maybe the person looking at swimsuit models, ironically enough, couldn't get aroused by full nudity, but needed swimsuits to feel aroused.  And, maybe it took a specific kind of swimsuit to do the trick for him.  I'm just speculating, but how we set those parameters and definitions could really change the numbers.

There is a strange emotional engagement that happens with escalation, and it does seem to make the addiction more severe.  That could explain why the perceived incidence is higher on these boards, because those people need to reach out for help more: thus, our message board sample is skewed.  The emotional engagement sometimes is a confused sexuality (HOCD, "tranny porn"), odd fixations (feet, boots, balloons), or things possibly connected to prior sexual abuse.  It definitely seems like for those trying to quit, those emotional engagements are the last man standing against them after they've figured out the physical, physiological and mental obstacles.

My dream study would be to break out the escalations/fetishes by group and look for patterns.  The guys who want to be put in diapers, are there common themes in their pasts?  How about the ones fixated with violence?  The ones who, though not homosexual, need to see male genitalia?  Pregnancy?  Granny?  Lolita?  That would be so far beyond the means of our feeble little movement, though.
