Annoyed by hollywood sexualized industry

I just want to take this topic off my chest. Im soo annoyed with how every series or maybe movie has to contain porn scene. Like why we cant just watch without that shit? Why every series is filled with porn scenes and seems like everything evolve around it? Its so annoying to the point i decided i will not watch serieses unless it contain no porn or very little scenes. I just feel like the whole series is just about star x want to sleep with star z, or they r thinking about it, or trying yo find a way or wishing to do so!! There r very very little good serieses out thetr! Its all about sex and sexualized stuff! They will be like two actors have eye contacts, then followed by sex directly! Thats ridiclous and so mechanical! Likw where is the romance? And yah let us not talk about romance, he or she will try to seduce him/her in every sexual possible way and then they call it romance! I dont mind romantic sex and in fact is definitly awsome with real ppl but what they r promoting is defnitly not romantic sex! I dunno im just so annoyed to the point everytime i think of watching a series, i just think of how sexualized things are, that just put me off. They do it for more views and thats even more annoying, just to see how sexualize it should be to make ppl watch. I just feel there r no good stories, no thrill or excitement, just the same things repeated over and over. I dunno if anyone else feels the same way. I started looking for other industries that have good stories with no sex whatsoever like turkish drama. Im just too bored and sick of skipping half of the episodes bcoz of porn, coz i dont watch that shit no more.

Finwe yah i agree with u. Me too i dont watch TV but sometimes just thinking to relax and watch something good, only to relaize there is nothing good, im just sick of that. Thats why i decided not to watch them again at all.

Every new movie seems to involve a trip to a strip club too. Leave watching tv and being on social media and work on self development or read a good fictional book for some stories, it will do you wonders. Tv and social media is all just brain rotting nonsense that adds nothing good to anybodies life addict or otherwise.

I agree.  I mean, people have sex, so if the plot calls for a couple to have sex and it makes sense in the story, then by all means.  But shows that are 90% about sex or sexualize women, nope.

That can really limit your available material, though.  Some of the most popular shows, and often also the best quality, also contain a lot of nudity (only women though).  Think Game of Thrones, Westworld, etc.  Gotta be patient with some nudity if you want to get your drama.

I agree.  We put all movies through various places on internet to determine nudity and sex.  If there is any, it is a no.  I was wanting to take grandsons to Ready Player 1.  It had talk about sex dolls and masturbation!  WHY?  If there is brief nudity it is full on woman's boobs.  Sex is not needed to make a good movie.  Or TV series. 

I agree with all of u guys. Gracie, yesterday i watched unsolved (tupac murder story) it literaly has zero porn scene, none whatsoever! And it was a great series! I was extremly happy that finally i can find one series without porn. Websites to check nudity and sex? Can u teach me about that plz coz i dunno them. Humblerich, im so sick of game of thrones bcoz of nudity and porn! And yah all the focus on women only. Its really annoying how everything should be sexualized to the point of frustration. Kids also r at danger bcoz of that too, its very hard to protect them from it bcoz its literaly everywhere. Not to mention the serieses that the core of the story is porn and having fun as they claim. Just gonna stop watching hollywood for good. I focus on hollywood bcoz there r other industries like turkish drama where they dont involve porn at all, also great stories.

It's weird, I never see porn-like material in any movies I go to see. I must have different tastes to the rest of you. I can imagine how frustrating it would be if I was being confronted with it continually though.

A radio host I listen to talked about finally getting around to watching Game of Thrones and made a comment on the nudity, after hearing people tell her it was "wizard porn".  She said that when they have to do lots of boring back story, they just have a guy tell a couple naked women the story to keep it interesting.  I haven't watched Game of Thrones so I can't confirm or deny this.  But, yeah.  The high amount of sex in movies and TV is because of lazy writing and just trying to get more eyeballs.  In Japanese media (at least for Western consumption) it is called "fan service".  God forbid they write an engaging story or construct a real scene!

I don't see new movies all that often, but I see it all the time in TV.  It is often pretty random, having nothing to do with the story, and is far more graphic than it needs to be.  In the 1970s there were movies that were actually about sex that showed less than a newer TV show that is supposedly not about sex at all. 

Movies from other countries are often much better.  Korean TV shows are very clean, but without being childish.  In fact, I have seen a couple series that had more intelligent discussions about sex than most American shows... all without actually having on screen sex!  Lots of Indian movies are like that, too.  They have more to say on the subject while showing less.  I remember one movie called Mardaani.  Think the Liam Neeson movie Taken remade as an Indian movie with a female lead.  It had more to say and share about human trafficking than the original, is deeply moving (even disturbing) yet is not all that graphic.

Funny how we, in the West, have saturated our lives with porn-like things, but our understanding of sex has gone backward, not forward.

Of course, laziness is a big part of it, too.  Writers/producers also get lazy where instead of creating real character depth or conflict, they just make a character mopey/emo.  They've been doing this with a lot of super hero franchises, and some end up way out of character.  Sometimes the dark moods work (Breaking Bad for example), but usually it is just nonsense.

Malando, movies r either with no porn or maybe one scene throughout the movie, also it depends on the movie genere and story. Doneatlast, totally agree. Korean, infian, turkish and other countries serieses and movies are great and interesting with no porn scenes. Its stupid how hollywood is all based on porn. Its very disturbing do i cancelled my netflix subsecription and anything related to that. Its sad how everytging just evolve around porn, to the point they should consider themselves porn industry. Writers are lazy and just want views. They dunno how to hook the viewres except showing porn scenes.

You are not different than what the mainstream people are. Maybe its because you grew up some years ago when the magazines and movies had more romance in them instead of sex.

Point is, the industry wants to make money. Some years ago before the movies they used to make dolls because thats what young girls loved. After that they moved on to barbies. Then romantic magazines, movies and so on...

Instead of falling into the cycle, take a step back and look at it as a whole. The real question is not why the industry has become more sexualized. Values change depending on thr goverment, the political system, religion, economy and so on.

The real question is why people keep consuming whatever hollywood or some other media throws at them. And in your case, why do women seem so attached to this part of life...? Have you ever wondered ? I think if we observe all this very seriously we can go beyond it instead of doing circles on the surface.

great advice, reading a book or listening to a podcast is always better than tv. there are some good movies though just make sure you check with IMDb or similar sites (for the parents guide). In any case there are very few movies that are worth the 2 hour 30 min, very few.
